It's over, TG. No doubt whatsoever. In that final scene we have just received the first message from the new CI creative team. Rene Balcer, through his close (and recommended) colleagues Walon Green and Michael Chernuchin, has reclaimed his creation. Kind of reminds me of when a new male lion takes over a pride. First thing is to kill all the cubs that were sired by the previous male. Looks like the male lion killed the old cubs and next season will sire new ones.......hopefully they all look like LOCI.

Excellent comments Deathroe!
Deathroe and Annabelleleigh, let me join you in the chorus of cheers that the long dark night of melodrama and angst might finally, FINALLY, be over. I'll add a special verse to cheer the end of Nicole. I relished how Declan described her end--is that sadistic of me? Nah, she had become an albatross, and yes the new creative team wants to RECLAIM CI, reclaim Goren, so no more experimenting and tampering. YEAH!
I'm curious about Declan Gage's motives in all this. I'm not totally convinced he was being completely altruistic to "free" Goren. I didn't count, but he used the word "engage" which conjured up for me a combination of the episode title "Endgame" and his name "Gage" so I was wondering if he wasn't also playing a masterful psychological chess game with Goren the way Mark Ford Brady did. Brady is Goren's real father, and Gage considers Goren the son he never had. Goren has been messed with by both these men. What a crowning achievement for Gage to turn the tables on his student who got the upper hand in "Blind Spot" and show him who is the master profiler. I think Gage got off on playing Goren's strings, culminating in accomplishing what Goren had been unable or unwilling to do himself, to get rid of his nemesis, his great white whale for good. I'll ask again, is Goren really free or does it just seem that way--for now?

WOW! For now, just wow! Every bit as good as "Endgame". I will have to post my deeper thoughts after a second viewing, but I do have one bone to pick. I don't care who asked, Rodgers never should have broken Bobby's confidence. I do like how she handled his little tantrum, though. "I dropped my tray" means "Uh, my fault. . .leave him alone". I do hope we get a scene in Season 8 where Bobby tells her he's sorry for popping off that way and she apologizes for breaching his trust. They really should start off on the right foot so he can get back to annoying her when he tries to handle her cadavers.

Not whatsoever. He's still the same old selfish Declan he was in "Blind Spot." TG's comments are perfect, so I will not add.
Really going now, really ... what an exciting episode!

Hey, I'm a posting fool tonight too.
I suppose Declan could've learned a great deal about Nicole's interaction with Bobby by checking the public records.
And I want to stress that even with the flaws I see with the story, I think this was a very neat, clean way of dealing with the Goren story.
Again, I really like the way Goren and Eames trust each other in this episode.

Looks like Gage out "eviled" the UO.

Declan Gage is only concerned with Bobby so much as he sees the detective as his creation. I wouldn't trust Gage any further than I could throw Frank and Nicole.
Did anyone else have a terrible fear that that was Donny on the morgue table?
I'll try to refrain from posting until tomorrow.

I am also gratified to see Goren and Eames back on track, although I was kind of worried when he found out she had been pulling his records. Almost a reverse of his not informing her about his actions in Purgatory.
I am still wondering "Whither Donny?"
It's kind of weird the way Declan Gage's fall into madness mirror's his daughter, kind of retroactively predicting her actions, and yet, while Goren's father was indeed a serial killer, he couldn't be further from one. Is that more illustration of "You could have gone either way"?

I think this was a great ending to season 7. When they threw in the insurance policy, I was wondering if Wally could have been involved. I have to admit - when I heard Nicole was dead then - I let out a sigh of relief - it's about time. I thought the acting in this episode was fantastic all around. My favorite part was the stare down between Goren and Ross - did anyone notice the little eye twitch on Goren? It reminded me of the "I'm the nut job". Ok off to watch it again.

Terrific acting. VDO was great "Your girlfriend" line made me laugh out loud. I think the eyebrow raise is my new favorite Goren moment. I was so hoping MFB wasn't his father, but as we find out later, it makes sense in regards to Goren's childhood.
I thought Jo bit her own tongue out of spite so she wouldn't have to talk to Declan.
I wish Goren would have asked where Nicole's body was.
I didn't see the pre-video so at first I thought it was Donny on that slab.
Is he free? I hope he can put this in perspective and move forward.
Oh, I forgot to mention how much I liked this episode.

I have yet to see this episode, so I can only draw from what I have read.
Firstly, Nicole could still be out there. They didn't recover her body.
If she is dead, this is not the ending I imagined of the Nicole saga. TBPH I was looking for a "A Person of Interest" like aria. Or even "The Good Doctor" like cross-examination where she gets caught up in one of her lies. The fact the Goren doesn't even get to confront her is somewhat.... anti-climactic.
Nicole Wallace was a Rene Balcer creation. I seriously wonder what he thinks with this ending, especially since Declan Gage, a Warren Leight character, supposedly killed her.
I wonder how Balcer would have ended the saga.... Maybe I'll just go watch "Quit Claim"
