In Hindsight...

I was recently procrastinating writing an essay on pluralist power and elite power theory so I read some articles on Anthony Anderson and went browsing through a few forums and started thinking what are my favourite Detective and ADA pairings. I know that many people have ranked their favourite characters but I am talking about favourite partnerships. I'll start =D

DETECTIVES--
1. Briscoe & Logan (is and always will be the best)
2. Green & Lupo (best since, if not on par with Briscoe & Logan)
3. Fontana & Falco (the two Italians =D. It was short but sweet)
4. Briscoe & Curtis ("You can come home with me, partner.")
5. Briscoe & Green (when I started watching the series)
6. Ceretta & Logan
7. Fontana & Green (I loved Fontana but never saw them working together any good. Imperioli's Falco made a better partner)
8. Green & Cassady (the mentor and the rookie)
9. Greevey & Logan (bleh)


ADAs--
1. McCoy & Charmichael (team kickass haha)
2. Cutter & Rubirosa (what a refreshing team of prosecutors. Love the sexual tension)
3. McCoy & Rubirosa
4. McCoy & Kincaid (haven't seen too many episodes with them together but they seem to work well)
5. Stone & Kincaid ('Old Friends' is one of my favourite episodes)
6. McCoy & Ross
7. Stone & Robinette
8. McCoy & Southerlyn (I'm surprised Elisabeth Rohm lasted 4 seasons. I suspect it was because this was when the show had the highest ratings in a while)
9. McCoy & Borgia (at least they got rid of her in a timely manner -- and left no chance of her coming back)

I haven't really been paying a lot of attention to the mothership over the years except this season but I've, (like the rest of the world) have seen the odd syndicated episode and, yes, I'd agree Logan and Briscoe (Briscoe and Logan?) were the best, close second Lenny and Green, but Green and Lupo close behind as third for me.

I think Greevey and Logan were highly underrated and Stone and Robinette were the best. That show was at its best when it had an all male cast as far as I am concerned.

I see how you have this Season both at #2 in category. I agree , in terms of quality. I also like Abby & Jack the best, but this year's ADA team is right there.

Actually, strickly as a heterosexual woman, I'd have to put Green & Lupo at #1 for Detectives, simply for the **Hot** factor.

I must be the only person out there that liked Serena. She was OK. I'd put her at #4 or #5.

What? No voting on the best DA? ;D

Ah, a kindred spirit. Although I do heart Van Buren. And I was apparently the only person in the world who liked Casady, so what does that make me? *s* And someone's gonna hate me for this, but I never could stand Kincaid. She had that deer in the headlights prettiness (as a friend once put it) that seemed to take over with the mothership women. Van Buren was the only female badass they had for quite a while.

I know, let's vote for best ME. That's an easy one. How that woman manages to be so consistent I will never know.

I was looking through some of the special features from my old Law & Order DVDs and in it was an interview with Noth and he recalled a time when Greevey and Logan were arguing in a scene and when the director said cut they continued arguing as Chris Noth and George Dzundza. Talk about an explosive set.

And then theres Dann Florek who said "Dzundza was bumping heads with Noth, then Sorvino was bumping heads with Noth, and everybody was bumping heads with Moriarty."

Being a Noth fan I like to think it was just coincidence. I liked kincaid though. It was one of those rare times tv gave us an unapologetic pretty feminist.
