The only copies of Guy I've seen on e-bay (admittedly, I haven't looked there for a while) were copies of copies. I actually wrote and asked because I know how difficult it is to get an original copy.
And I've finally gotten the February schedule for Sundance West. Yes, Guy will be shown, just at different times. For those with Sundance West, the premiere will be 1:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23rd, with a rerun at 6:50 a.m. the same morning.

I'm not sure if the listing is for Sundance East or West, but my local cable TV guide says the first airing of "Guy" is tonight at 10PM ET, to be repeated *in the wee small hours" Thursday at 3:50AM ET.
On the Sundance Channel website, and also on tv-now.com, there are three more airings listed:
Saturday February 25 at 11:35PM ET Tuesday February 28 at 1:15AM and 11:35PM ET

If any of you can, you really should check out 'Guy' It really is a good (& a little disturbing) movie. It changed my prospectives on privacy & how much I truely value it.

If Guy really didn't want to be filmed, couldn't he have just gone to the police and said he was being stalked? Obviously he began to enjoy it but I wonder....what sort of laws are in place to protect people from being filmed against their wishes? What if the person filming has a high power lens and is filming from a distance?

Well, does it make a difference sence she was claiming to be filming a movie for a college class? Perhaps she found a loophole in the law with that?

Well, by the time it became clear to Guy that there was something seriously wrong with the woman behind the camera, he was too emotionally tied to her to make a break like calling the police on her.
I think the crucial point came when they encountered the man the woman had followed before. At that moment, Guy realized she'd been lying to him, that he wasn't special, that he wasn't differentand that she was destroying him. It's a devestating moment, and Mr. D'Onofrio's performance is terrifying and heartbreaking.

I think Guy was one of the best films he ever made.
Guy was at first resistant to her filming but soon came to enjoy being in the spotlight she created and was maintainng for him. But Patcat's right, he got so far sucked in he didn't realize Miss Camera was destroying him along with herself. At first, he his behind ego and she hid behind her "I'm just an observer" shtick but instead of helping each become stronger, each drained each and destroyed each other by romanticizing while hiding behind the camera. They were too busy acting and playiung their part that they forgot to be "real".
Oh, I hope that made sense. LOL!! Also, Guy spraying Miss Camera with the fire extinguisher is one of the funniest moments I have ever seen in a VDO film!

Well, does it make a difference sence she was claiming to be filming a movie for a college class? Perhaps she found a loophole in the law with that? No, I don't think so. I don't think she could force his participation in her "project". It was much too late by the time he realized just how looney Miss Camera was. He could have sicced the cops on her, had he not gotten in so deep. I read a story in Pennsylvania (I think) where a stepdad filmed his stepdaughter in her bedroom, undressing and the whole nine yards. The cops couldn't do nothing to him! I know there is a big difference between stalking and taping people and I guess some places don't have laws that say taping you is against the law, as some sort of invasion of privacy. You may never know you're being filmed with a high power lens from a distance unless you accidentally see it or catch them taping you somehow.

I love how they made Miss Camera 'the monster' of the movie: 'The monster' being the thing in the shadows that you never get a good look at but are dying to know about. I didn't get why she didn't want to get romantically involved, was it because she liked the buffer zone of being a spectator?

Yeah, to remain objective. She said it hurt her last film.

Does anyone know what studio put "Guy" out? Maybe if we contact the studio and let them know how much this film is "wanted," they will re-release it on DVD!

hey, Techguy reminded me about "The Blair Witch Project." Do you think the kids who did that movie, saw "Guy" first

"Guy" is fifty times the more competent film. Ooh, I'm so afraid of a pile of sticks...

Blair Witch made me sick, something about the camera angle made me queasy & I still to this day can't get all the way through it without coming down w/ a migraine.

I'm new to the board. I love anything that is VDO. Have been trying to catch the movie "Guy". It is scheduled again on Sundance for May 2 for those of us who have not seen it. Does anyone know why it is soooo hard to purchase his earlier films? I have looked everywhere for Naked Tango and Guy. Any help will be appreciated.
