It's out on DVD in France...but soon, very soon in the USA. I understand the US version has some Katrin Cartlidge related goodies (nothing much in the way of VDO extras though)

I own the French version, from Belgium, (also has the original English track) but not many additional features. What do you think about the movie? I found it a little disturbing.

As much as I loved Vincent in this movie - even the parts where he wasn't butt naked! - I found it, overall, a bit depressing. But I think that was part of the point of the film.
And Colm Meaney was as sleazy as ever.

Yes, if not depressing - maybe more - stark? I think the film did want to show hope or whatever, not totaly dispair ..... but it wanted to show things unadorned - that's for sure.

This is an extraordinary movie with great performances. Mr. D'Onofrio often gives performances that are so raw and powerful that they're painful to watch, and this is one of them.
But this is a very disturbing and stark film that will not leave a viewer with a hopeful view of humanity.

***** POSSIBLE SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS FILM *****
Maybe bleak best describes it. Terrific performances, but a bleak message. I never really got whether Claire is pregnant by Elden or the guy in the hotel room before she gets on the plane or by one of her johns. Was that supposed to be one of the quandries we are left with?? Ideas, anyone??

Well, I have no idea if it was supposed to be anyone's else's baby - but I don't think that even mattered to Claire. She just wanted to instantly belong to someone & to have a different life.

I haven't seen "Claire Dolan" but I cannot understand how any movie with a naked D'onofrio could be hard to watch. I wish I was too much of lady to ask .... but I'm NOT .... Just how naked are we talking? Am I going to be in need of a defibrillator after viewing his .... (cough cough) tremendous acting .

VDO looks like a rugged good lookin lumber jack of a fella.
Its the storyline that makes it hard to watch. There was no joy in their lives. It is sad and depressing all the way around. but I guess both Elton and Claire got what they wanted, but not with each other
