No way! Am I the only one who would NOT want to meet Vincent? That's the last thing I would hope for. For one thing, there's the whole "make an a** of myself" thing that would have me kicking myself forever, but another thing is, what if he is a jerk?
I mean, I doubt he is, but I've met several celebrities and only ONE has ever been a person that I liked (Jay Leno). The rest have been self absorbed, arrogant, and quite dull bores. It is disappointing to see that in person, I'd rather keep to my illusions...they never disappoint!

I really don't see the point in meeting celebs unless you can either get an autograph/photo or have a decent a conversation with them. I wouldn't want to meet an actor on the set - I'd feel in the way, like I was violating their space or something unless I knew for certain that my visit wasn't a disruption. I couldn't even imagine the cast turning up on my doorstep for a visit so why would I turn up on theirs? Well, lol, for lots of people that would be some sort of dream but for me it would be a nightmare. I mean, they are still total strangers to me. What could I do? Invite them in and offer them milk and brownies? I mean, come on!

But I would only want to meet any "celebrity" in a natural way, the way we meet other people, I find the whole concept of idolizing someone because they look good on screen, or sing pretty absurd, I prefer to admire people for other qualities, sweetness and/or strength of character, sense of humor, perseverance in the face of adversity and yes, talent in their field, but that talent doesn't make a person a god, just a lucky person that is able to do what he loves to do.

......I would ask him to do GOREN one me.He must get that alot from family friends and his fans. actually...i quite doubt he gets that kind of stuff from family and friends especially. it's his job...it's not that big a deal to him i'm sure. i think a lot of celebrities (and maybe their friends and families?) don't really even watch the tv shows or movies they are in unless they have to. to them....it's just a job and i've heard many that can't really figure out why everyone is making a big fuss over them Hey, I'll take the milk and brownies! But I would only want to meet any "celebrity" in a natural way, the way we meet other people, I find the whole concept of idolizing someone because they look good on screen, or sing pretty absurd, I prefer to admire people for other qualities, sweetness and/or strength of character, sense of humor, perseverance in the face of adversity and yes, talent in their field, but that talent doesn't make a person a god, just a lucky person that is able to do what he loves to do. right...i agree. oh if i were around and had the opportunity to meet a celebrity just for the sake of meeting him/her...i totally would. but...they're just people. and i'd hope i'd treat them that way....lol

Polarbear-I'm a rookie and was reading the items about meeting Vincent. Did you ever get to meet him? Did you correspond with his sister?

I went to a family birthday party yesterday and met a friend of my sister-in-law who took a ride out with her from Manhattan. Turns out she is an actress who has regularly worked on all three law & orders for years, but only as a very small bit player. For example, she's one of several reporters in an old episode she thinks might have been A Person Of Interest. She says she never watches the shows. Anyway, she offered to take me on set with her next time she does a job. I was thrilled, to say the least! She's not sure when that will be, though. They call her at the last minute sometimes. I asked her if she knew anything about CI being renewed or canceled. She said, "I think everythings OK, since Vince isn't f*cked up anymore. He was really f*cked up before, you know?" I didn't know what to say. Then she changed the subject. Another extended family member of mine has a daughter who used to be one of Mariska's (from SVU) assistants 2 or 3 years ago. Well, it was quite an eye -opening experience for her. Her mom told me that her daughter saw quite a bit of substance abuse by many of the cast & crew. She said it's all part of that business. Of course, all of this is heresay. However, I did believe the woman I met last night, although she had a few drinks in her. And I didn't get the impression she was talking about "exhaustion" either. Being f*cked up could mean a lot of things. Whatever was wrong with "Vince" as she called him, it seems to be over.
