Fun Night with Jeff Goldblum Feb. 9, 2009 Berlinonline.de
*Thanks Anke!*
Rubbing shoulders with the Hollywood stars. That's what you get these days on the Berlinale. Of course I couldn't miss out on an encounter with the tallest of all stars: Jeff Goldblum.
The tall guy from Pennsylvania invited to a reception in hotel Kempinski at the Ku'damm. 300 guest came to the buffet and premiere of "Adam Resurrected" in Cinema Paris. Joschka Fischer, Nino Cerutti, Hannelore Elsner and Iris Berben were there, too.
Star of the evening: Jeff, of course. Inimitable, absolutely cool and relaxed he moves through the crowd, shakes hands, laughs all the time. Suddenly he stands in front of me. Before I even get around to introduce myself, he says to me: "Hi, how are you? I already saw you at the entrance, you are very tall. It's great to be back in Berlin." He was in Berlin only for two days, arrived from Los Angeles. Yesterday he went back. Why? "I have to shoot." Sounds almost apologetic. Stress? "No, I'm in a great mood." Nothing can blow the mind of this film giant.

What a delightful little interview. Thanks Jeffan. Whew...glad to hear that he's headed back to NY to shoot LOCI. He must have serious jet lag, hopping around the world like this.

Jeff Goldblum und der Hundeflüsterer (JG & The Dog Whisperer) Feb. 7, 2009 Morgenpost.de
*Thanks Anke!*
Morgenpost Online: After the shooting and the preparation for the movie the work still wasn't over. You had to talk about the film.
Jeff Goldblum: In this case I'd like to say that I may talk about it. Before and during the shooting I was here in Berlin, talked to Holocaust survivours, I was in Sachsenhausen. I tried to go everywhere Adam Stein might have been to.
Morgenpost Online: To what extent is it special, the movie on the Berlinale? Jeff Goldblum: Even though it's no German film predominantly, it's a bit like coming home. We presented the film two years ago on the Berlinale. And now we are back here. I think that's wonderful. Also, the film starts in Berlin. We shot here. I had a great time here.
Morgenpost Online: When you stay for months in Berlin, work on a historical subject, ... Jeff Goldblum: ... are a Jew yourself. Don't forget to mention that. Well, then you undertake a time travel in your mind. When you sit in a historical building and think: If it was 1943 now, then I couldn't sit here so freely. Then I would be hunted now and I would fight for my life. Luckily it's only an experiment in your head. But I was very glad that no one saw me in this contemplative phase of mine.
Morgenpost Online: There are a lot of very good actors in the film, such as Joachim Król or Juliane Köhler. Jeff Goldblum: You know what I noticed during the shooting? We Americans can be such arrogant bastards sometimes. Take Joachim Krol for example, who plays sensational. Or Moritz Bleibtreu or Juliane Köhler. We ignored all these great actors all the time.
