Yes, I think the spokeswoman said her department would be posting the full text here later.

I read that too. it doesn't matter if he is married or not, he shouldn't have been saying is is divorced when he wasn't, it makes me think ofhim as he can't be trusted as a person or actor, his antipredijuce video and the more you know video aare all scripts to him his character actor, I have mixed feeling about him, one thing actors and actress shouldn't do is lie to their fans, we are the ones who keep them going, if it wasn't for us not watching their movies or shows they would be without a job and I think that this may hurt him, now all i see is when I look at him is that he is a lier

Not to discredit the validity of the whole thing, but here's some questions that come to mind:
Why set the record straight now, after 3 years?
Why do it through a third party?
Why do it on fan-based media instead of a news media?
Nonetheless...great for him!

My only question is why is it such a big deal what his marital status is or isn't?
I'm happy for him that he's not divorced but in the whole scheme of things, I think people obssess over ridiculous things sometimes...oh wait, I'm obssessing over the fictional character he portrays so what's worse? ;-) LOL

The information that he's married or not is irrelevant, it's the mean used to settle the matter that made me raise an eyebrow: unprofessional and childish.

I agree 100% with Mimi's posts. I didn't and don't care about his maritial status, but have never seen any celebrity approach giving a personal statement in this lame of a manner. It's the tackiest, weirdest thing. I would be very embarrassed if the people representing my career used wilkepedia as a spokesperson. I've read he doesn't use paid representation; maybe he should. There's a reason some stuff is free.

One of the many reasons I like VDO is we are not inundated with endless soundbites about "whas'upp". In my experience, wikipedia is not reliable. As gianna said, "...there's a reason this stuff is free...".

Maybe it's for them, as a couple, as they start a new phase of their life together, not for us at all.
Best of luck to them.

I don't detect anything that says Mr. D'Onofrio or any representative of his made any statement to either the reel site or Wikipedia. The reel site is very reliable; Wikipedia is not.
Mr. D'Onofrio apparently does not have a publicist--sometimes I wish he did, just to deal with this sort of thing.

I think it said "a spokesperson for the D'onofrio family..."

I have to agree with Mimi! Sending this information to a small sect of fans, via a third party, is beyond weird. Fans have every reason to raise their eyebrows, especially knowing that "third party" people have played some cranks on this same small section of fans before.
This whole thing started when someone an edit war happened on Wikipedia, and the edit war started in November. Someone kept insisting they reconciled in 2004, and it made the Wikipedia regulars mad and they demanded proof or to leave the page alone. There have still been odd edits there, even after the "announcement".
There is someone on the Wikipedia page who seems to be working with whoever made the "annoucement". I wouldn't say Wikipedia is unreliable. There are obviously people there who care about accuracy. Plus, there are administrators who are involved.
I was talking to someone and they said what is the most stupid and ironic about this is Vincent does not talk about his personal life and doesn't want anyone else talking about it, either. But someone's sudden need to "fix" a trifling detail on the Wikpedia page has done just the opposite: It's got everyone talking. I don't understand why is was so imperative to suddenly fix a years old Wikipedia page. Had whoever started the editing war just left it alone, this conversation would not be happening.
I don't think Vincent is a liar, even if he is actually married. He has made it clear that his personal life is personal and he doesn't want to share. Any true fan of his would be respectful enough to abide by his wishes, instead of expecting him to give them information he does not want to. He has drawn a hard line. To complain about it now is pretty dumb. He owes us nothing when it comes to his personal life. We have a right to be curious but we don't have a right to know.
Like Patcat said, Vincent direly needs a publicist.

Like Patcat said, Vincent direly needs a publicist. Yes, that and his own Official Fan Website would be nice. Olivia D'Ablo, Billy Bob Thornton, just to name a couple of his co-stars have their own. They drop a line to the fans every once in awhile and share their latest project news and thank the fans for supporting their work.

I made my post before I read the reelblog, which was not wise and inconsiderate. It's actually not that odd that someone from the D'Onofrio family would contact the reel--the reel administrators do seem to have a legitimate link with someone. I see this as more of a courtesy to fans than some sort of conspiracy.
