Are there any interviews with some of VDO's leading ladies? I''d love to hear what they say about him as an actor and as a person. I've heard that VDO is something of a 'hopeless romantic' and has on several occasions fallen for a couple of the ladies he's starred opposite. In spite of being quite the ladies man, no one seems to have said anything unkind to say about him. I'm not looking for bad mouthing by tabloids. Just curious about VDO the man as well as the actor. He seems to be such a great big teddy bear, very cuddly indeed! P.S. He's still married to Carin Van Der Donk, right?

From what I've heard, his first wife and the mother of his daughter Layla , Greta Scacchi, had a lot of negative things to say about VDO over the years. I believe they are cool with each other now. Rumor has it that he dated both Cameron Diaz from Feeling Minnesota for a short while, as well as his co-star from Spanish Judges (Italian actress - can't recall her name). And yes, I do believe he & his wife Carin have reconciled recently.

Yeah, I went to her web page and although Ms. Schacci does not say anything outright bad about VDO, her site makes the intimation that their break-up had to do with her career going better at the time and VDO was struggling to find work. There was also a hint that their relationship was extremely passionate and physical. Something Ms. Schacci admits to being an easy way of feeling that one is deeply in love when actually both people are swept up in the emotions that a very sexual involvment can bring out. Get this, she's now living with and has a child by her first cousin!
Renee Zwelleger thinks VDO's pretty sweet and thanked him when she won -I think- A Gloden Globe.

Greta Scacchi's webpage address is: www.leninimports.com/greta_scacchi.htmlAs to Carin Van Der Donk, I've heard conflicting reports; one says their reconciled, another says they are still separated but communicating, still another says that they've filed for divorce. All from presumably reliable non-tabloid sites. Another sore point for either woman would be that it appears that VDO has custody of both his children. Scacchi lives in rural England and I'm not sure where Ms.Van Der Donk lives currently. If you go to Wikipedia and type in VDO's name, not only do you get a biography and filmography, but a slew of name's of the ladies he's presumably romanced throughout his career. Maybe it wasn't 'overwork' that made him sick a few years ago, even a big sexy Italian guy just can't burn that candle at both ends! Sorry about that, he's just such a cutie!

Janae Garafalo spoke kindly of him (Steal This Movie).
I'm in the camp that doesn't believe he never divorced or has reconciled with his ex. The issue will be clarified if Vincent bothers to get around to it.

I for one think its non of our business. Very true ragincajun, his personal life is just that, personal. I doubt that anyone here could disagree on this matter, yet at the same time we as human beings and admirers of VDO can't help but have some curiosity about him and what he might be like off-camera. He is a private person and admirers of his should respect that. Sorry if I sounded too nosy or snotty with this or other posts. Truce? <<<waves white flag>>>

It's a public document. I think we can discuss it without going TOO far. I thought he shared custody of his children, and the wife lived in NY.

Truce? <<<waves white flag>>> [/quote] No anger here, but think the press, who keeps prying and printing different stories. Should just print about his work since that is all he wants to share. I am really not a "Ragin"Cajun ;D Happy Mardi Gras Just FYI RaginCajun was the name of a Roller Coaster of one of my fav amusment parks in New Orleans that is long gone. When my hubby and I were dating we brought his parents on it, his poor mom was still screaming after the ride was over.

I for one think its non of our business. Tell that to the (ex) fans who accuse him of being a liar when they do not even know for a fact that they did reconcile or the time frame that they reconciled. Not being angry or defensive, it's just some of the fans' reactions has sadden me.

Well if those 'ex-fans' are going to let a personal and private matter between VDO and Ms. Van Der Donk, be the deciding factor in whether or not they 'like' his work, seems a bit silly. If they were part of the family unit itself, then they would rightly have a say in the matter, but as unrelated outsiders to that family it's not really something to get that upset about. It is, like it or not his life ultimately and he has to make decisions based on what he feels is right for him and his children. Sorry for sounding kind of pompous there.

I don't recall that Mr. D'Onofrio "lied" about anything. It was a matter of public record that someone filed for divorce (I'm not sure if it was him or her), but I don't recall any word as to whether the divorce was finalized.
Anyway, as many have written, it really isn't any of our business. All he or any other actor owes anyone is to do his/her job.
The only comment I would make is that Mr. D'Onofrio has looked healthier during the Sixth Season than he has for a couple of years. It wouldn't surpise me if he's taking better care of himself and if he's being taken better care of.

Absoulutely right there Patcat, it's his personal business. But being the silly goof that I am, I wouldn't mind the opportunity to help take care of him! ;D
