You have a valid point. There's no way "staying in the mood" between takes when you direct the show at the same time. He'd have to do a N/W ep. Still, it might be a question of DW policy. If he gets to direct one, why not grant one to the other actors, too?

Imdb doesn't list director credits for Jamey Sheridan on LOCI (or any other show).

I'll have to go back and watch one of my DVD's to see why his name is in the end credits. It must be for some other reason. Maybe assistant director? I don't know. . . *off to do research*

I'd doing this from my faulty memory, but I think there's a "James E. Sheridan" who works as a member of the credited crew on LOCI. Totally different person.
I recall that Dann Florek may have directed a few episodes of the mothership after Cragen was written out of the original series and before he started on SVU.

You're right, Patcat. I saw that on my DVD when I watched an ep the other night. What a funny coincidence that is, to have names so similar on the same show.
