I did a search but didn't come up with anything on this movie here yet - if so, moderators please delet this thread. This was an odd and visual film & I was surpised to find no thread on it. I only bring it up because I saw a listing on Ebay for not only the VHS tape but a book to go with it - I know when I was collecting VDO stuff - Claire Dolan was almost as difficult to find as Guy. I had gotten a DVD of this movie from ebay. Great scene where the pimp (Hot Tub Harry from ITWSH) grabs VDO by his genitals and takes him to his knees. Definitely an R rated movie.

I just received this email from a seller on ebay. I had purchased the Clare Dolan DVD from her. She sends VDO updates occasionally. Hope this helps.
View blocked images. Hello: Please let me know if you want off my Vincent List (I don't send notices often - but I still don't want to bug anyone). I have just listed a pretty rare promo booklet ofCLAIRE DOLANand I have included a full original VHS of Claire Dolan and a 13th Floor Poster. Please click on the link below to check it out. I put my non-VDO listing links too - but you may only interested in the Claire Dolan piece. Thanks for looking - have a great summer.

Yes, that's the one I was talking about - but my url won't turn into a link. I'm not buying VDO stuff anymore - but I wanted to give out a heads up.
I forgot about that scene .... the one that always flashed to my mind is the cab scene & how he handles what happens to him - I always thought that was very odd .... not out of character, but very odd.

I came across this by accident (happens when you look for an author called Clair Nolan *hehe*): www.amazon.co.uk/Claire-Dolan-Vincent-DOnofrio/dp/B001NJTFC6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1232991852&sr=8-1It seems to be the DVD will be out in the UK and maybe all of Region 2 a little later. I don't think they'll dub it, but who cares... I didn't even know that movie existed, so I googled a little - it acutally caught my interest, but I have a soft spot for what we call "non-mainstream-cinema". What really struck me though that the main characters' mother in the story dies of a brain tumor. And so did the actress Katrin Cartlidge only a couple of years later.

I have this film, tjara. It is very hard to find in terms of renting, and the blatant sexual scenes make it unlikely for TV airing, even cable. It's an excellent film, well worth seeing. VDO is very good in it. And very handsome, too. Annabelleleigh's avatar photo is a scene from that film. For some reason, i thought the actress who played Claire committed suicide? And just so you know, Claire's mother's illness & death is a minor part of the film.

This is a terribly sad, wonderful movie. But do not see it if you're in a depressed mood.
I thought Katrin Cartlidge died of a massive infection--not unlike the pneumonia that killed Jim Henson. She was a wonderful actress, and almost brutally honest in this tilm.
There are some of Mr. D'Onofrio's performances where I really worry about him, he's so extraordinarily real in them. And this is one of those.

@donnajo Acutally, I think if there were a dubbed version of it, that movie would actually air around here. Friday after midnight we get the explicit kind of movies on certain channels, or so I'm told But I guess that's different in the States... As for Katrin Cartlidge, her wikipage states: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katrin_CartlidgeSo technically you're right Patcat. I was wrong though, pheochromocytoma is not a brain tumor, but cancer none the less. I misspelled it when translating it into German and researching it on the German wiki and was taken to the wrong article (I don't speak english well enough for some of the medical stuff, so the english page didn't help). Still I always quiver when seeing a dead actor on screen, especially if they died young and under somewhat tragic circumstances...

Yes, her death was tragic. The cause is irrelevant really.
I know what you mean, Tjara. It was several months after Jim Henson's death that I could watch the Muppets. That may not sound like much, but I'm a great fan of the Muppets, and it was a hole in my life.
