What is your vote for the first G/E episode of the second half of Season 8?

I want to give it an A ++++++!
I was held by the whole thing, but dear lord, I'd give it an A+ on the aria alone! Magnificent!

I rarely give an A+, but damn, that swagger was back.

It was, wasn't it? I obviously have loved all the emotional stuff of the last couple of seasons, but dang, it was SWEET to see that swagger again!

What a powerful and moving aria! I gave the whole epi an A+. It's good to see Robert recovering. More another time when others have had a chance to watch.

Totally concur with all feedback here, like i said in another thread recently, people confuse VDO with Goren the character too much. He is first and foremost a great method actor, yes Vincent knows how to play with peoples heads, way to go Vincent ;D A+ all the way, he delivered, only the way he can Its far easier to not over analyze episodes IMHO, because as we have seen, Bobby is back, just like i knew he would be. He is a lean, mean, Bobby Goren fighting machine ;D

Wow. All A+ so far. Are we going for a record? Is this going to be the first episode to have a majority of A+? LOL! I'm still reeling. I am going to watch it again when I get home from work today.

Well, here I am, breaking the A+ (ducks head)
A+ is reserved for episodes like CHERRY RED and WANT in my book. And FV was great, but not quite at that level. But just remember that this was the first A I've given this season (at least I think so.)

Gave it an A+. Such a vast difference between the last Goren/Eames episode & this one. Again because the episodes were aired out of order. Someone tell me that we are finally done with the Goren mountain man /angst ridden episodes that were filmed in the Fall/Winter? Are there any more left? Are there any more scheduled? I hope not. Caitlen, how were you able to see this episode already? Edited To Answer My Own Question: "Alpha Dog," the season ender, was filmed in November 2008. So we are back to the beard/angst?

I just gave it an A+, too. Loved every minute of the episode and agree with most of what has been said here. Gee, I am glad I did not have to wait for two weeks to watch this one, the curiosity would have killed me Patcat: I do believe, that Gorens very emotional, very strong performance resembled the one in Cherry Red (which I funnily just watched again last week) very much. I am glad he's back. Back with a vengeance, truly! I have asked that question in another thread already, but again: where do you get your information on the original order of the episodes? Can anyone send me a link, please? This is so highly interesting for me, because it never occured to me that (and WHY on earth) the order of airing episodes would be changed. I never thought much about the possibility of not shooting episodes in the order they were supposed to be aired (do the makers not read all the scripts before deciding which ones to take and then in which order to shoot them??). For so many ages I have been angry on German broadcasting companies for not being able to send shows from the States in the correct order and now it is dawning on me that the terrible mistakes in continuitiy I often noticed on several shows might have originated from shuffling the order and were actually not due to the German companies not being able to read numbers.....

The whys and wherefores of television scheduling are mysteries indeed. AL and some of our other members more well versed in the behind the scenes stuff can answer your question much better, but for a quick answer I can tell you that there are websites that follow the filming of shows and what episodes are being filmed when. As to why some episodes are shown when they're shown--Heaven knows. Series supposed like to start and end with their strongest episodes, although that can be hard to determine since many series are still taping while new episodes are being shown.
For those of us devoted to the show and Bobby the showing out of order is an annoyance, but I'm sure the more casual viewers could care less.

It depends - sometimes they are capable, sometimes not. If I know correctly, In the Wee Small Hours is an episode that they usually air out of order, and not because it was a goof by US Networks.
