If it wasnt for Bobby coming back off of leave after he had already been on in an episode, it wouldnt matter. Other episodes in other seasons have been shown out of order of filming too, but this was too obvious, goof or not.

I think so too and would add the new viewers. I'm only aware of this because I'm a member of this forum. Even though I know Jeff's episodes are aired out of sequence of filming, I can overlook it as this is the first season for Zach Nichols.

Quote: I'm sure the more casual viewers could care less.
Of course not, they wouldnt rate either, as the back story is an important part of Goren IMHO.

Meh. Sorry to undermine the splendid A average , but I gave it a grudging C+. Perhaps the glowing reviews here and on the episode thread elevated my expectations, and by the end the only thing that was elevated was the one-crane-shot-too-many. (Perhaps the director wanted to get his money's worth out of that expensive bit of machinery).
I felt 'led' by the corny grotesquerie of the hymns - Vee muzt feel zuh hawroar sroo zuh moosic! Too bad the script was too thin to fill the bill.
For self-delusion masquerading as religious conviction, give me The Third Horseman any day. Or the brilliant Pilgrim. But mostly, the villain was a bore. Bring back Jim True-Frost as LOCI's best pervert performer ever.
The aria . God loves a trier, so smiles, as I do, upon the writers for trying. But the Goren mystique is an essential part of the deadly dance, and it's just.not.there. IMO. of course.

Welcome back, DB. Leave it to you to point out the numerous crane shots, lol. You're right, of course. There were plenty of them. I know that I personally was so thrilled to see Goren show some kind of recovery, that I wrote a rave review of this episode. But it's all relative. Is this episode as good as "The Third Horseman" or "Pilgrim?" No, of course not. IMO, nothing we are presented now can hold a candle to vintage LOCI. I gave up comparing new LOCI to old LOCI seasons ago.

Oh my beloved DJ, so grand to be able to ticky-tack with you once more! - Okay, let's move on fromthe air kisses IMO, one can compare all of VDO's work/ Goren's appearances from S1 to now, to be fair. Apples and apples
