I can't help but agree with the comedian Paula Poundstone who wondered where all these people who loved Michael Jackson were when he was obviously in serious trouble.

Me, too, Patcat. In those first days after his death, when fans were gathering around the world, and on the day of his funeral, I stopped and looked up for a moment and said out loud, "Michael, I hope you can feel the love now." Because he should have been able to feel an outpouring like that while he was still alive.

Date Changed to September 3rd for Michael Jackson Burial AUGUST 25, 2009 The date for Michael Jackson’s burial has been changed to Thursday, September 3, 2009, at 7:00 PM PST. The private ceremony - at Holly Terrace in The Great Mausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, CA - will be limited to family and close friends. There will be accommodations for the media nearby michaeljackson.com Michael Jackson Burial Triples in Price Posted Aug 27th 2009 by TMZ Staff The Jackson family's decision to move Michael's burial from a Saturday to a Thursday is gonna cost some serious dough -- at least three times the original price! According to the Glendale police, the cost for the weekend service would have ran about $50,000 -- 90% of which goes to police handling street closures, security and perimeter control. But officials say the Jackson family will now have to fork over "at least triple the price" to contract the cops for a weekday burial. As for the cemetery, we're told it will be on total lockdown -- with security patrolling from the ground and from the air. At least one police chopper will be keeping an eye from the sky. And just to prove the cops mean business, Sergeant Tom Lorenz is warning uninvited fans, "Don't even try and come, because you won't even be able to see the green of the Forest Lawn." www.tmz.com/category/michael-jackson/#ixzz0POqx2O5X

I don't understand why they just didn't bury him after that huge, televised wake/memorial, or whatever that event was. No, instead they all went to a restaurant. I can't figure that one out.

Thanks Caitlen. Don't people realize that you can't bury a human being just anywhere? There's a health code, for God's sake.

I can't help but contrast the hoopla of all this with the dignified events surrounding Senator Kennedy. Of course, the apparent love his family has for the Senator is a sharp contrast to the Jacksons, some of whom seemed to regard Michael as a meal ticket.

Its quite sad to think the poor man has been waiting to be laid to rest for 9 weeks now, they were told from the start he couldnt be buried at Neverland Ranch. Maybe not burying him was more like hanging onto the name MJ, for obvious reasons. They probably thought the name would win the argument at the end of the day.
All that family want is a side show, they sold interviews the very day he died, Latoya publicly accused him of being a child molester during the court case, then acts like they were close when he dies. He had no contact with his family except his Mother, that explains a lot.
I doubt MJ would have wanted that big public memorial, being so private, it was all show for the family, except his Mother.
I thought the same thing when it was announced the funeral was changed by four days, it had to do with Teddy Kennedy.

Unless they plan to bury him under the Big Windmill I think you mean Neverland.
