Cassie, are you seriously comparing the political opinion of an SVU character to gay-bashing? The SVU character was a real person not a caricature, like LOCI gave us when they gave us Faith Yancy (Nancy Grace) Gay bashing or bashing a person cause of their political views, religion is just plain bashing to me. Yeah, I think you really need to check out Glen Beck, cause whether you realize it not, your hatred for the likes of O'Reilly and Beck is just as unhealthy as a person who hates gays.

As usual, you misunderstand the point of my posts. I don't hate O'Reilly, Beck, Olbermann or even Nancy Grace. I don't even know where you're getting that. Perhaps because I delight in seeing people called out for being liars and hypocrites? I don't think there is anything wrong with that, and certainly nothing Glen Beck can help me resolve. The point of my eariler posts are that I don't believe 99% of what comes out of any of their mouths because they're all pushing an agenda that has nothing to do with THE TRUTH. If you want fair and unbalanced so you can make up your own mind, watch PBS. They are required BY LAW to be politically neutral. BTW, the BEST thing about this new L&O "scandal" is what O'Reilly and those that support him in this conveniently fail to recognize. Right after the special guest character delivers the "defamatory and outrageous" line, Finn replies, "Get off the soap box, the cameras aren't rolling." Lol!!!!

There are few people in this world that I find more dispicable than Bill O'Reilly and Glen Beck. Hate and fear mongers, the both of them, and so intent on dividing the country for ratings and the political goals of their employers. . Dictionary definition for the word despicable is: –adjective deserving to be despised; contemptible: a mean, despicable man
Synonyms: vile, mean, detestable.I hear hatred in your voice when you talk about them. As for Finch, Yep you are absolutely right, His character did diffuse what John Larquette's character was saying. But what the people on FOX news were saying was: subtle comments like that after awhile start to have effects on the general viewing public. They start to believe what they hear. Its propaganda. And we all need to be wise about what were being told. Not just from FOX news....but from all news stations, from what we view in movies, tv shows and books, oh and music too! Also my point was, maybe they should have used a caricature, not a real person. Trisha, I enjoy you, I don't always agree with you. but you always make ,me think. I'm telling ya.....you got to check out Glen Beck, Im not saying Bill O'Reilly, cause he is loud and annoying.....but Glen....just give him a try

Two things guaranteed to generate a lot of comments: politics/political commentators and VDO. Nothing else brings people out to discuss like these 2. What would we do without them?

I apolgize for the confusion. I meant dispicable as a synonym for shameful and disresputable, and I thought I made that clear in the closing of my post in which I stressed honest and respectable journalism as being a standard we should all demand from those who claim to be delivering the facts.
But don't you see? Here inlays the hilarious hypocrisy!!! No one shills extremist propaganda as frequently or as viciously as Fox.

Her mother was a thorn in her side. I am talking about the way that blowhard covered them. Agreed. On both counts. Did you love the way Jon Stewart skewered him for it? I loved watching the footage of him blasting Lynn Spears juxtaposed to his defense of Sarah Palin. I also loved Jon's bit on how Palin stressed that it was Bristol's choice. Because having a choice is important to Sarah Palin, except when she's trying to take it away from other people.

Please...don't get me started on the unholy trinity of extremist propaganda--Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, and Glenn Beck. I find nothing humorous or informative from any of them.

But don't you see? Here inlays the hilarious hypocrisy!!! No one shills extremist propaganda as frequently or as viciously as Fox. Trisha, you put into words my exact sentiments! Hubby and I refer to Fox News as "Hate TV"...especially vile during the Obama/McCain election coverage. And Limbaugh will always be for me "Hate Radio." He does get the seniors riled up - yelling to them they are going to lose their Social Security, their Medicaid - all for ratings and to propel his political agenda. Like Techguy, I find nothing funny about them. Such "humor" can provoke people easily led into hate crimes. Remember, not everyone who watches these guys is educated or intelligent.

But don't you see? Here inlays the hilarious hypocrisy!!! No one shills extremist propaganda as frequently or as viciously as Fox. I'm never said, Fox News was right on about everything. Never. I said I listen to all different views and come to my own conclusions as to what I feel is the real truth. Please...don't get me started on the unholy trinity of extremist propaganda--Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, and Glenn Beck. I find nothing humorous or informative from any of them. Techguy, I find your statement closed minded and very scary We could substitute the 3 names with Jon Stewart, Steve Cobert, Anderson Cooper or whomever and say the exact same thing. We all need to be careful very careful to whom we are listening to and to whom we are following. To close your ears completely to what the people at FOX news is saying to me, your part of the problem, your part of a crowd. Your not thinking on your own. Trisha, I checked out Jon Stewart for you years ago, I am asking you to someday be opened minded enough to sit down and check out Glen Beck for me

I've seen Glen Beck, Cassie. My opinion on him, just as everything else, is self-informed.
IIRC, Techguy is also PBS news watcher, so no need to fear him.
And people who choose not to sit through "news" that is full of hateful invective and half-truths are not close-minded. They are simply more civilized than the people who would rather get angry, point fingers and stick to their "team" now matter what.
Politics is not the NFL, MLB or NASCAR. Picking a team is about the stupidest thing you can do. And Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Keith Olberman and their ilk are payed to play for team red and team blue.
They're all shills. They lie. They mislead. Don't listen to them. And for gods sack, stop telling other people to listen to them unless you're giving them the same warning I'm giving you.

Cassie, I can think for myself just fine, thank you very much. Please don't presume to think for me. I know what I like and what I don't, and I don't like FOX "News" or any of their mouthpieces.
From what I've seen and heard from Limbaugh, O'Reilly and Beck, I have more to fear from them than from Cooper, Stewart and Colbert. I find the latter 2 very funny and spot on as they call out hypocrites like the Limbaughs, O'Reillys and Becks and others like them. These latter 3 are the most hateful close-minded individuals on TV and radio I've ever heard. And yes, I have SEEN and HEARD them. They are a despicable bunch--IN MY OPINION.
BTW, Trisha is correct. I am a PBS news junkie so you have nothing to fear from me--or the truth.

Cassie; I've watched all of the people you've mentioned. Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh have made hateful, hurtful statments. Rush Limbaugh made fun of Chelsea Clinton when she was thirteen years old. Whenever Beck and Limbaugh and O'Reilly have been caught in a lie or a hateful statment, they've tried to hide behind saying they're entertainners. Yet they seek to influence public opinion as political commentators. They're cowards in that way.
Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have given many interviews where they speak thoughtfully about how they started as comics, but they recognize their shows have become venues of political commentary. They're not comfortable with it, and they question it nearly every day.
I recognize the world is not black and white. I think it's one of the reasons why I like LOCI, to swing wildly back sorta on topic. Please consider that your responses are also suggesting that you're thinking in terms of black and white as much as you think those who disagree with you do.
