First new episode of the New Year. It was quite good, as it used the Letterman scandal as a jumping off point. Difference being that the talk show host is a lesbian married woman played by Samantha Bee. She hosts a show named "The Sisters" which is a take off of "The View." Bee was adequate in the role. Raul Esparza (Eames' ex-boyfriend turned transvestite murderer) was great as a TMZ sleaze. But the most interesting turn was Anita'a gentle order for both (mostly) Lupo and Bernard to ditch the facial stubble. Her words.. "I don't know what kind of downtown look you guys are going for with this stubble, but it's not working." And specifically to Lupo, "Have you looked in the mirror lately? You're not in Karachi anymore." Hee. According to a member at TWoP, Anderson stated in an interview (see link below) that Dick Wolf's wife didn't like the beards, so...there you go. IMO, its about time that these shows stayed true to the dress code of the NYPD. Detectives are not permitted to sport beards, unless they are undercover and it is warranted. I did think that Anderson's was subtle enough, but Lupo's was definitely too heavy and made him look schlubby. The preview next week show both guys clean shaven. For those of you who miss LOCI's complicated, convoluted plots, this episode is right up your alley. Without being heavy handed . **Link To Fallon Interview With Anderson
