Costumes and colors used in film can be symbolic and reveal information about the characters. A sharp-eyed buddy noticed how Alex and Nicole are often dressed in the same colors or as exact opposites, which raises the question: Could Nicole be Alex's evil twin?! Not a literal twin, no more DNA tests please, but like a doppelganger. Or could it symbolize that Goren is torn between his good partner and the evil temptress? (I never really saw it that way but just putting it out there) Good and evil: opposite sides of the same coin? slideshowFor Kacesq: Strong Nicole warning! ;D

I just want to point out I've noted the physical similarities between Alex and Nicole previously. i don't think they're dressed alike. i think there's an effort to dressed the two differently. Nicole is almost always in white. as you noted, and almost always too young.

Yes! I think they are similar physically also!
In many scenes they are dressed differently, but as shown in the slideshow above, often dressed in the same color...black or white. I believe it was an intentional wardrobe thing.
As for Nicole dressing too "young", my aunt would say she was "mutton dressed as lamb"! ;D

What do people mean by "dressing young"? Why are miniskirts the province of 25 years olds?

It's not the miniskirts. It's the white lace, the frilly things. And it's not just that Nicole was a thirty year old woman dressing like a twenty year old. She was a thirty year old dressed like a twelve year old. It's as if she was trying to project an innocence she certainly didn't possess and had taken from her.

That I get. She wanted a cover for her scuzziness.

Patcat Where is Dr. Paula Severin when you need her? ;D It is a psychological thing. I get ya Patcat- Nicole didn't get to be an innocent little girl because her father sexually abused her, so she dresses to try to recapture her stolen youth. . MJ, She might try to hide her scuzziness, but it isn't working! In this one, Alex is the one in ruffles. It is the only time I can remember seeing her in something frilly.
