maherjunkie and I discovered that we live in the same city and now we are movie buddies!
Last night we saw The Help and LOVED it! I kept whispering "We had a green phone on the wall like that...my grandma had a blue bathroom like that..." but as much as I enjoyed the '60s sets, the story completely pulled me in and stayed with me. About the movie We laughed, we cried, she had Raisinets and I had M&Ms...
I read the book (same title) and recommend it too! The movie follows the story very closely, but there are more details that just can't be squeezed into a 2 hr. film.

Saw this again over Christmas break with the family. My husband and I made it "mandatory" family movie night with the older 2 kids (ages 13 and 11). They grumbled and fussed about having to see 'that boring grown-up movie', but after a short time they were completely engrossed and really enjoyed it. We had to pause it a lot to answer questions, but we all enjoyed it and I'm glad my kids got to see how the times have changed!
