"Jacquelyn Reingold writes for theatre, television, and film. She currently writes for LAW AND ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT. Her play STRING FEVER had a sold out run Off-Broadway at Ensemble Studio Theatre, starring Cynthia Nixon and Evan Handler. It was recently produced at Playhouse West in California, and in Washington DC at Theater J. Read the review in The Washington Post. Her newest play, A STORY ABOUT A GIRL, just had its first workshop at Purdue University in April, 2006. Her screenplay adaptation of GIRL GONE was optioned by Beech Hill Films, and an original screenplay was commissioned by Palisades Pictures and director, Eric Bross. She has written for Darren Star/NBC’s "Miss Match," starring Alicia Silverstone, MTV’s "Daria," and the WB’s "Phantom Investigators."
Her awards include a 2006 New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) playwriting grant, 2004 and 2003 commissions from Ensemble Studio Theatre/Sloan Foundation, New Dramatists’ 2000 Joe Callaway Award and 2000 Whitfield Cook Award, the Kennedy Center‘s Fund for New American Plays’ Roger Stevens Award, two Drama-Logue Awards, and the Greenwall Foundation’s Oscar Ruebhausen Commission. She has been a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, the Heideman Award, the Denver Center Theatre’s Francesca Primus Prize, and received an Honorable Mention for the Jane Chambers Award. She has received fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, the Ucross Foundation, and the Edward Albee Foundation. She is an alumna of New Dramatists, a member of Ensemble Studio Theatre, and the HB Theatre Playwrights Unit.
