I finally got to see this film this past weekend. What a magnificent film. Without bringing unnecessary attention to it, Martin Scorsese demonstrates what great filmmaking skills he has. There's no "look, I'm making a great movie" here. Everything is at the service of a sweet, intelligent, moving story. Wonderful acting by a great cast, including Christopher Lee in a small but significant role. Great film. See it. See it in 3-D if you can.

The story is about a boy who lives in the Paris train station. He's lost his father in a mysterious accident, and is trying to avoid being sent to an orphanage.
What the movie is really about is the joy of movies and Martin Scorsese's dazzling genius.
