I enjoyed it, and plan to watch some weeks. Unfortunately, this show goes head to head with Numb3rs, which I also like. So, I'll probably watch whichever is new.
Bebe Newirth is great, an excellent choice for a prosecutor.
I was saddened to see Jerry Orbach in his last role. It looks like tomorrow they will have a memorial with the episode. What class and grace - even when ill he gave a classic Lenny performance.
I think TBJ will beat out the time slot once viewers get on board. Plus, people may segue from Third Watch.

The "new" music is going to take some getting used to.

I caught the ending, and liked what I saw. Unfortunatly, I watch Numb3rs as well, so I guess I'll have to get in tha habit of taping one, watching the other. Yes, it was a heartache to see Jerry looking more and more ill. Still a Consummate, Classy actor, even in sickness though.. the memorial episode tonight will probably be a tear jerker for me I did catch some of the music... whoa... different, huh?

I watched it last night more for Jerry Orbach--it's odd, I feel in some way I owe it to him, which makes no sense at all--and because WITHOUT A TRACE was a rerun. I'm not a big fan of courtroom shows, but I found myself drawn into this show. I'd read a couple of articles that noted this L&O was the first one driven by female characters, and I have to agree with that. I like Bebe Neuwirth in general--she's a really terrific triple threat of an actor/singer/dancer--and I liked her character. Candice Bergen was good too, and I gather we'll see more of her. I'm not familar with Kirk Avecedo, but I liked what little we saw of him and his character--he really seemed to have a nice chemistry going with Mr. Orbach. So, I'll give this show a few more chances, especially after MONK goes into repeats.

B. Neuwirth was really great last night. The show made a great start. The script, I noticed, was written by Dick Wolf himself.
Since Candace Bergen is in "The Practice", will we be seeing her again later on. I know she's the judge again in tonight's episode.
Lennie: We don't need no stinkin' badges. ;D

OK, I am really bad with the television, missing half of LOCI all the time and now missing TBJ. So when will the first day be repeated? -Beth

I Will definitely catch tonight's episode in honor of Jerry! I also love Bebe Neuwirth, she's a terrific singer/dancer and she's been great in the L&O past episodes she's been in. Candace Bergan made a good judge from what I saw, so I'm looking forward to tonight's episode.

I'm finding it just fair. Did TPTB think we were unaware of all the snickering, wheeling & dealing, and other behind the scenes things that go on at a trial? the lawyers in towns all know each other & hang out at the same country clubs - sometimes it even comes down to favors! Still the best system out there I am aware of; but it could use another dose of justice.

There may be some bad news ahead for TBJ: tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,271|95262|1|,00.html I hope it gets a chance to succeed and is renewed. I much prefer watching this over SVU.
