Has anyone ever watched Stone Undercover? Is it a good series? Many US viewers will get a chance to sample this series this fall. Article appeared in www.mediaweek.com"Cold Squad and Stone Undercover from Program Partners: Program Partners, the home of sleeper hit Da Vinci’s Inquest, is packaging two additional original Canadian forensic crime solving dramas -- Cold Squad and Stone Undercover -- in an off-network syndication package available next fall themed Crime Watch. For more information, contact Josh Raphaelson at 310/399-4499"

I have never heard of Stone Undercover, but CBC has a program called Tom Stone. It *was* a great show, but has since been cancelled...as of a few years ago. If Stone Undercover is a take off of it I hope I find it up here soon cause Tom Sone is not only funny, but cute too.
This is the write up from CBC......
Tom Stone is an ex-cop and ex-con – charming, larcenous and recently released from jail, thanks to Marina Di Luzio. She’s a hotshot, big-city, commercial crime specialist and she needs Tom working for her – whether either of them likes it or not.
Marina (Janet Kidder) drags a reluctant Tom (Chris William Martin) out of jail and sets him to work undercover, helping her pursue the corporate and political crooks who usually get away. But Tom has his own agenda and his own way of working that sidesteps the law.
That’s okay with Marina since the criminals she’s paid to catch usually have the law on their side. Her greatest challenge is keeping a leash on Tom, at least some of the time.
Tom and Marina break all the rules as they chase their prey through the office towers, back alleys and horse barns of one of North America’s hottest new corporate centres, Calgary, Alberta.
Created and produced by the Albertan makers of North of 60: Tom Cox, Doug MacLeod, Jordy Randall and Andrew Wreggitt.

Thank you for your information about "Tom Stone" It turns out that "Stone Undercover" is the syndicated in the USA title for "Tom Stone. I am now looking forward to seeing this show. You make it sound very entertaining. I found this on www.wintertime.com. "Very interesting news from here in the States. Program Partners, which sold "Da Vinci's Inquest" to stations in nearly every U.S. television market and has seen solid ratings for the show here, is now marketing a two-hour crime-drama block consisting of "Cold Squad" and "Tom Stone." The former, of course, stars Julie Stewart, who played Rosemary Fletcher on Nof60. The latter (which has been renamed "Stone Undercover" for syndication) was produced by Alberta Filmworks, and Timothy Webber is a regular in it. You can see a promotional video for the "Crimewatch" block on the Program Partners website. "

I think it is the 26 episodes that aired in Canada. However, there are over 95 episodes of the Cold Squad and both will be airing in 2 hour blocks so Tom Stone (Stone Undercover) episodes will be turning over pretty quick.
I am not sure about new episodes. I saw on IMDB where the actor appeared in an episode of Veronica Mars (I have the DVD set) so I will have to see which character he played.
I do know that they did add new episodes to Due South when it went from CBS to syndication.
I am really looking forward to seeing both Cold Squad and Stone Undercover in the fall. I really welcome both shows if they delay L&O:CI until Jan. 2007.

Until January *2007*!!!!!!!!WHAT!!!!!!!!Noooooooooooooo..... Stupid Olympics..... Have you ever seen Cold Squad? It is really good, all though I enjoy the first few seasons the best. Julie Stewart was right the basement did give everything a cosy cold case ambiance. There is a current 1hr comedy/drama running on CBC right now called This Is Wonderland. It is in it's second season and is a lot of fun, you might enjoy it too. CBC's blurb below.... From acclaimed producer Bernard Zukerman, celebrated playwright George F. Walker and Dani Romain, comes the series This Is Wonderland. The show revolves around Alice De Raey (Cara Pifko), a young criminal lawyer thrown into a justice system bursting at the seams. She encounters an endless procession of characters - ranging from the truly desperate to the wonderfully bizarre. Alice, with a good-natured openness that cloaks a tenacious, committed spirit, finds herself on a journey that constantly tests her patience and compassion. Set in Toronto's Old City Hall, cast regulars include Michael Riley (Interrogation of Michael Crow), Michael Murphy (Magnolia), Michael Healey (Robocop), Siu Ta (Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle), Eric Peterson (Trudeau) and Kathryn Winslow (The Safety of Objects). The possibility of L&O:CI being delayed to Jan. 2007 is not due to the Olympics. L&O:CI will air the rest of this season 5 from March to May 2006.
However, since football is going to NBC on Sunday nights, NBC will either move the show to another night or delay it until the season is over in Jan. 2007. An interview with the head of NBC suggests that he is thinking about leaving L&O:CI and Crossing Jordan on Sundays but delaying season 6 until Jan. 2007. Nothing will probably be official until May.
I have never seen Cold Squad but I have read good things about the show, even on this messaage board. I have read where many viewers like Cold Squad better than Cold Case.
The other show sounds interesting as well. Maybe we will get it eventually in syndication.

"Tom Stone, an ex-cop, ex-rig worker and ex-con goes undercover for Corporal Marina Di Luzio, a specialist in a police commercial crime squad. They go where most cops can't, catching bad guys who would normally get away - criminals with influence and money who think they're above the law. 26 one-hour episodes (26 x 60) available for U.S. broadcast in 2006."
