I really like this series. I read where the actress who plays Carol will not be in the next series. She is going to join the cast of Spooks/MI-5.
Has anyone who lives in the UK seen the new series of Wire In The Blood without Carol? Does the new character have any chemistry with Tony.

The new series of this show starts on 10/2/06 on BBCAmerica. It is a very good psychological mystery series. If you like L&O:CI you will probably like Robson Green in the role of a profiler. Robson Green was also very good in Touching Evil (UK) which is available on DVD.

Even though I missed the chemistry between Tony and Carol. I liked the new investigative partner. I think it is great that the US gets these episodes so close to the UK airings.
I saw on IMDB where Patrick Harbinson has been writing for L&O:SVU as well. I believe the one of the "Dani Beck" episodes was written by this writer. I guess I have always liked L&O:CI and L&O:SVU better than other crime shows because the are more like the UK mysteries. Now I see that SVU even shares a writer with one of the current UK mysteries.
The Wire In The Blood series books by Val McDermid are equally good. One of the current episodes was based on one of the books but Carol was not in the episodes since Hermione Norris has left the show.

Do you know if it's shown in Canada? Canada picks up a lot of Brit TV. It's very popular over here but so far I haven't heard anything about it.

Sirenna, check your listings for Showcase.
Episode "Bad Seed" is on at the moment. It just started at 2:00 (PST) my time.
Episode "Nothing But the Night" is listed for next Saturday (Dec 9 at 2:00PM PST / 5:00PM EST).
These are episodes 2 and 3 from the third season (or Series 3, if you like)
Mind you, the first season consists of 3 2-part episodes; second and third seasons are 4 episodes each. Four episodes have aired for the fourth season. I presume that's it for the season?

Do they have BBCAmerica in Canada? It aired on BBCA last month. It is not currently playing but BBCA does repeat their shows sometimes in the early morning hours or on Saturdays and Sundays with the occasional marathon.
I did read where they did commission a series 5 which is good to hear. I wonder if his new partner will return. The actress who played Carol left to do Spooks (MI-5) but I have not seen series 5 of Spooks to see if she is still with the show or if she is returning to Wire In The Blood. I will have to check Val McDermid's website to see more details about series 5.

Do they have BBCAmerica in Canada? No. But we do have BBC Canada and BBC Kids. I am at a loss, however, as to why the second one is called BBCK. In addition to cartoons and such, it also airs shows such as the original What Not to Wear, Dr. Who, Blackadder... Showcase airs across Canada, eh. Since they are carrying the show, BBCC wouldn't be carrying it.
