I'm not sure exactly where to post this since it could apply in several areas. In any case, this item:www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/pr.cgi?id=20060405bravo01CAST OF "LAW & ORDER": The longest running crime series on TV, "Law & Order" is entering its 16th season and has spawned an entire chain including "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." Filmed entirely in New York City, each series follows a crime from the initial investigation to the intricate workings of the criminal court system. Series creator Dick Wolf joins cast members Chris Noth ("Law & Order," "Law & Order: CI"), Christopher Meloni ("Law & Order: SVU") and S. Epatha Merkeson ("Law & Order") to discuss the wildly popular franchise that has become a pop culture phenomenon. Premieres Sunday, May 7, 9:00pm ET

May 7th...that's the same day as the cross-over episode with Whoopi Goldberg. What timing! One would presume that there will be some insight into this from both CN and SEP. But, it'll be airing opposite the CI episode, n'est pas?!
Bravo Canada won't get around to showing this for months, so you'll have to give some us a very detailed analyis.

Welcome. I rarely watch it on Sundays. I'm curious how the cast members participating were chosen. Was everyone invited?

Irregardless of the host's feelings towards Vincent or vice versa. Rene and Vincent are the show!!! Without Rene NO L&O. At all. Without Vincent, no Goren and no character with the psychological backgrount to reveal the 'why' of the crimes which means no unique LO:CI!!

I watched most of the episode with the L&O guests, but cut out a few minutes early because CI was coming up next on NBC and I wanted to get ready to record the new episode.
No mention was made at the start or during the hour that Chris Meloni had been there and had to leave due to illness. However, since I cut out early I have no way of knowing if anything was said about Meloni as a footnote to the broadcast.
Chris Noth and S. Epatha Merkerson were funny and articulate, giving some personal details while short clips of their performances were shown. Noth was shown in "Sex and the City" and CI, Merkerson in L&O and "Lackawanna Blues."
Dick Wolf revealed how he went from advertising to movies to TV. His so-called claim to fame in advertising was the campaign for National airlines, the one where stewardesses say "Hi I'm ( ), fly me!" which made James Lipton, Noth, and Merkerson laugh out loud. Wolf also revealed the intent for his L&O shows from the beginnning was that they could stand alone and not be serialized, and NOT involve the personal lives of the characters (SVU has strayed from that). When Lipton asked what is the Bible for the L&O shows, Wolf answered simply, "The front page of the New York Post."
I switched just as studio audience members started asking questions. One member commented how Wolf doesn't fit the stereotype of producers, he seems kind and gentle. To which Noth interrupted with "Let's talk about this afterward" and then everyone laughed out loud again. I would have liked to have heard more, especially in light of Noth's leaving the original L&O and how he came to return in CI.
If anyone missed the original airing and would like to view and/or record it, Bravo's schedule shows it will be repeated this coming Friday May 12 at 7PM ET.

Hugh Laurie is the guest on Sunday's episode for Bravo Canada. I think it's a repeat.
