I looked the boards and couldn't find a thread for this show. I watched an episode the other day (a friend made me) and how painful it was. First of all... DAVID CARUSO IS THE WORST ACTOR ON TELEVISION. Anyone can act like a retard, wear sunglasses and have your hands on your hips 24/7. His tone is so FAKE and the way he stands just annoys me. I cannot watch him although I reckon the writing is pretty good. They really need a new lead actor. He is a joke! I cannot believe anyone would pay even a dollar an hour for his talent - if you can call it that.
Anyway, just venting.

The problem with D. Caruso is that I don´t see any difference between his character in CSI and NYPD. They look the same guy, always happy to meet himself. And why does he always have to say the last word before credits or commercials?
Nothing like Petersen or Sinise.

I really like his way of acting, so I might be in the wrong place here . One could also say it's not very hard to (or "anyone can act like") act like a person who's absolutely amazed by insects, shrinkheads and loyal to his people, but on the other hand doesn't like to talk about his personal things . It's a matter of taste, isn't it? I for one like all of the three lead actors, but I'd still prefer Caruso. I'd like Sinise the best (since I really like a lot of his acting in many movies), but I still think they could have written a better role for him than Mac Taylor (in general, I don't like the writing for "CSI: NY" that much).

We hardly ever watch the "other" CSIs, but my hubbie pisses his pants laughing whenever he sees Caruso with hands on hips just so. ;D they have some joke going on about it at his job. I've never seen the NY one (past my bedtime) but I've always thought of Gary Sinise as a good actor, as for Peterson's character, he's amusing in small doses, but I can only watch the re-runs so many times. LO:CI on the other hand.... the other day I actually had two different epis on the TV and my laptop at the same time, Mr. madger just rolls his eyes, (he has Uma) madger

I actually liked this CSI the best until this past season when they turned it into "As Miami Vice Turns" I liked the finale so I hope they go back to the self contained and less soapy storylines. Just because Desperate Housewives had "15 months of buzz" does not mean everybody wants every show to be a soap opera.

Actually, from what I'd seen of season 4 (I spent a few months in the USA), I liked that season a bit more than season 3. The writing was a lot more thrilling than it was in season 3 (where only a few episodes really stood out). But, I agree with you, the story line about Horatio and Marisol (I still wonder whether NBC will finally steal some CBS-audience by making her the new ADA on "Law & Order"...) was quite cheesy...

BBC News.comCSI show 'most popular in world'
Forensic drama CSI: Miami has been named the world's most popular TV show in a study of ratings in 20 countries. The programme - starring David Caruso - made the top 10 viewing charts in more of those nations than any other show. Lost and Desperate Housewives were at numbers two and three, followed by Colombian soap Te Voy a Ensenar a Querer, or I Will Teach You to Love. The survey, which was conducted by Informa Telecoms and Media, has been published by Radio Times magazine. The executive producer of CSI: Miami - broadcast on CBS in the US and Five in the UK - has two more shows in the top 10. Jerry Bruckheimer's original CSI, set in Las Vegas, at number six and missing persons drama Without a Trace in seventh place. Spanish language Te Voy a Ensenar a Querer - telling the story of a father and son who are both in love with the same woman - is one of three Spanish language titles included in the survey. At number eight is Inocente de Ti, which translates as Innocent of You and is the third remake of 1970s Mexican soap Rina, according to Radio Times. It follows two sisters as they take their grandmother from Mexico to Miami to find their alcoholic father. Anita, No Te Rajes! - or Anita, Don't Give Up! - makes ninth place in the survey. It was funded partially by American network NBC as a way of creating programming for the growing Hispanic population in the US. There is only one children's programme in the top 10 - The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, which is made by Nickleodeon, at number 10. "The objective of our research was to find the most consistently successful programme worldwide in terms of attracting viewers," said Adam Thomas, the media research manager responsible for the study. "We were not therefore concerned with shows that performed extremely well in a relatively small number of markets. "CSI: Miami was therefore named the most popular programme because it featured in more country top 10 rankings for 2005 than any other," he told the BBC News website. WORLD'S MOST POPULAR SHOWS 1.
