Thank you, DB! I thought I was the only one who remembered that.

I remember that everytime Jackson/Sharpton open their collect mouths about what others say or do.

Wasn't it Sharpton leading the charge on the Towanda fiasco? Why yes, yes it was...sidenote: I was watching Hardball last week and Sharpton was on, talking up the Imus story with my News Boyfriend David Gregory (who was guest-hosting). Gregory totally called Sharpton out on the Towanda Brawley thing, it was fantastic. He just asked him very simply if he (Sharpton) felt it was fair that Imus apologize and be punished for the hurt he caused when Sharpton hadn't ever apologized for the Brawley fiasco. Sharpton got all indignant and raised his voice and Gregory just kept politely asking him. It was pretty fabulous

It seems the players who are pointing fingers and wanting Imus' head on a stick are the very ones who should get theirs out of a certain orifice and admit what they have done is no less offensive than what Imus did. But then, they would have to accept the same punishment and they're not about to go that route. Hypocrits and bigots come in all sizes shapes and colors. Doesn't matter if they're wearing a cowboy hat or a $1000 suit. At least Imus admitted his error in judgement. Sharpton/Jackson....don't hold your breathe, just your nose. BS stinks.

To me, Sharpton is a political animal who knows an opportunity to capitalize when he sees one. He is no Jesse Jackson, that's for sure. On the contrary, I see Jackson and Sharpton as two of a kind. It's interesting, but not surprising, that they haven't had to apologize to the Duke boys...

I knew Jackson had volunteered to fund the girl's education but didn't hear they had assessed guilt.

Also - while I detest Imus & his attitude - & think what he said was rude and distastful ... I just don't see where it is racist??? Nappy headed is close - but still in my book, not really racist - It would be like calling them knobby-kneed. So I think Jackson & Sharpton just were bored & jumped in with both feet.
I would never listen to Imus more than surfing and catching it - staring like a train wreck & surfing on in about 30 seconds - it is as trashy as Stern & not as funny.
Good point about the people that work on the show under Imus - they are the ones paying a hefty price for the media's knee jerk - hang em high reaction. Modern day lynching, eh? Nothing could be done to stop it excpet the figurative death of Imus (firing).
Yeah - what about a good old appology for those Duke boys???

Nope--Jackson refuses to answer any questions, and Sharpton starts yelling like a 3yr old. whenever anyone dares to bring up Tawanna Brawley.
