I like this ep pretty good, but I can't remember why the hit man killed the first mortician(?).
The wimpy blond mortician was pretty good too; was that Jim Gaffigan?
My favorite part was when Goren was telling the guy what went on in his cousin's mortuary and the guy just keeps on weeding (or whatever), oblivious to talk of entrails.
The best line was when Goren says to the stoner kid "Yeah, I bet you know all about ropes" and Eames elucidates further her knowledge of hemp "Click'ems, sticks, ......
I thought the Easter tie-in was interesting but the metaphor didn't feel full circle; not that I expected a corpse to "rise from the dead" but some kind of "uplift"- but then I guess justice being served is supposed to represent that.

He first killed the mortictian because, one of the 'ahses' (dirt and stuff) there was a problem with it. Either he relised that it wasn't human ashes or he never got it. So the hit man killed him so that the trail of the ashes ended with him and never goes on to the crematory.
While Goren and Eames were talking to the guy he was sharpening a matchet I think
That was a great Episode it was on USA a few days ago

I saw this episode again and during the whole time I had the feeling something wasn´t right. Today I watched part of it again and then I saw what was going wrong: this time Goren isn´t the tallest guy. I saw that almost all the characters are very tall and Goren´s height isn´t so obvious and maybe it´s a stupid thing but hey, when you get used to that 'Snow white' among all those 'dwarves'...
Not too many suspects are as tall as him (or taller) and it´s quite strange when not only the suspect but everybody are quite tall.
Besides this weird detail of mine I liked the episode very much although I would have made the script play more with the killer against the cops, he was very interesting and we waste a lot of time with his dumb cousin.
It was one of the nastiest episodes I´ve ever seen, I guess corpses are more impressing than blood stains to me. When Goren makes that soap get out of the dead body...I was happy I wasn´t eating, especially mustard! The comment they make about the teacher is funny, it is probably the only moment when Eames is 'seen' because she is quite invisible in this episode.

I love the line that the first suspect gives Goren: "Do you want your anus stuffed with cotton???" Goren's reaction is priceless - and notice how he sits down immediately afterwards!! Too funny!! caseyswife

The hit man keeping a corpse in the same freezer as his daughter's ice cream was more than offset by what I have considered CI's greatest asset--Goren's triumphant undoing of the nastiest of perps. The sight of the burly killer crawling around looking for a missing tooth cap, and then all greasy and dirty as his deeds are exposed, had me ROFL.

who in hell would have his family's ice-cream with a corpse!
And yeah, the face about the cotton was priceless

This one's based on a real crime where mafia was using a crematorium to stash dead bodies.

who in hell would have his family's ice-cream with a corpse! You know, I think the "who in the hell" is actually literal. For a cold blooded killer like that, he is in hell, or is deemed to be in one. Anyways, I loved Goren's reaction to the cotton scene. Not many times where you get to see that face. ;D

Too funny!! caseyswife Even though this was a very serious situation, it was still hysterical! CI makes you laugh the hardest at the most inappropriate moments. I love CI's dark humor. I also loved it when Deakins said "So, that's what a brain looks like on embalming fluid".

I can't remember the characters name either. I know the guy that played him also played the killer in "Manhunter." And he was spooky as hell in that!!
