I'm a big Stephen Fry fan. His performance as Oscar Wilde in the film WILDE is astonishing. And he is a brilliant and funny man, even if he can't dance (g).
And I may be one of the few people in the world who thinks that Hugh Laurie's talents are wasted in HOUSE.

Ooooh, I really wish I could watch that, I absolutely adore Stephen Fry. He's just so wonderful, charming, freakishly smart, witty....ect and so on Actually, what I've really been wanting to see is the documentary he made about bi-polar disorder (Stephen Fry: Secret Life of the Manic Depressive), did you catch that, Janet? He talks about his own struggles, and also interviews some of his creative friends who also suffer from it (like Tony Slattery). I keep hoping it'll turn up in the US on our PBS station or be released on DVD, but so far no dice. (Patcat, I'll join you in your small club...I agree. While I think his performance is fabulous, that show and at this point the character of House himself, are not worthy of his skills. I'd really like to see him move on.)

I'd like to see that documentary as well. Have you seen Mr. Fry and Laurie as Jeeves and Bertie Wooster in the British series a few years ago? Brilliant.
Hugh Laurie would make a great Sherlock Holmes, although I doubt he'd do the part after House.
