I've spent/wasted - depending on who was next in line for computer time at my house - a chunk of time posting on this show. The December repeats have me scurrying to find a new pursuit to fill those hours. The thing is the substitute has to be interesting but completely devoid of any responsibility or meaning because otherwise it would require effort in my off-time which would make it too much like work. I've found a few options. One is blogging. I've weeded far too many minutes reading about the minutiae of complete strangers. Believe or not the most interesting blog I've come across so far is of a 17-year old British boy. So I was wondering what have you found to fill your LO:ci message board lull.

I have no real life, so I have oodles of other interests--Sherlock Holmes, old films (especially musicals--Fred Astaire being a particular obsession), musical theater, baseball--so in some ways I welcome some down time.

Having sworn off the "chemical experiments" of my long ago misspent youth, I am hard pressed to come up with some viable (and legal) options to get me through the arid desert that is new CI episodes.
Ordinarily, watching NHL hockey would be a welcome winter diversion, except for the fact that the nasty !@#% lockout has left me and other fans deprived of our share of faceoffs and hat tricks. What a bummer!
Working lots of overtime has been a bonus, the better to help me pay off the ghost of Christmas presents when the credit card bills arrive after the New Year.
Like Patcat, I am a fan of old movies. I am so grateful I get Turner Classic Movies on my digital cable system. I know it's a little late to mention this, but last Tuesday TCM featured some of the films of Martin Scorsese plus an original documentary about his directing style. What a treat to catch The Band's concert film "The Last Waltz" plus a tour de force performance by Robert De Niro in "Raging Bull."
Gotta go now and hang some holly and lights. I waited until now since I don't want to ruin my reputation of being fashionably late with just about everything. I also don't want my wife to hang me either if the last of the decorations aren't up in time.

Too busy working and shopping for a lull. On Saturday, I had a full day of shopping for Christmas and birthday presents. Christmas Eve marks my dad's 80th birthday and big plans are in the works! From the time I pulled out of my driveway and returned to my driveway, I'd spent nine hours and fourty minutes of my life! Like you Patcat and Techguy, I prefer old movies as well. When I switched from buying VHS tapes to DVD movies, Singin' In the Rain was the very first DVD I purchased.

I've been too busy lately to think about the lack of CI, let alone to find a new hobby. My husband and I are just finishing our living room remodel. Between our home improvements and school, I would have been too busy to watch CI even if there were new eps. Like Techguy, I'm just getting my decorations up. My neighbors were peeking out their windows at me while I cursed up a storm about broken strings of lights at 11:00 last night, and as if all the broken lights weren't bad enough, it was +5 without the wind-chill last night, maybe -5 with it. But, the moppets really love the lights, and that made the work well worth it. Now, if I can just find a tree that doesn't look Charlie Brown's, we'll be all set ;D I do have one guilty pleasure, though. Nikki, you'll appreciate this one, I've added all the seasons of SG-1 to my Netflix list. Getting those in the mail every few days has been a real pick-me-up

Trisha, I think there's no need to feel guilty about that pleasure! The Space Channel is having a 22-episode, Christmas/Boxing Day SG-1, Season 6 marathon. Speaking of Christmas trees....I think I need to set ours up! TODAY! It's never been this late.
