Hunter green is one color that does do me some good. Though that is to wear only, not eat. I'm with you Techguy, green in my beer, or other food items isn't very appealing...*ew* When I read "Green Eggs and Ham" Cat in the Hat story when I was a "wee babe" (grin)... I was grossed out... Hmmm...

Thank God I don't have roomates. I love my life right now (right this minute anyway, this changes like the wind)
PS. Thank God I no longer have any roomates.

Well, said FORMER (thank God!) Roomie still has a bunch of her crap in the closet, including a mysterious fridge that is not hers. We exchanged some notes but have not spoken, not ugly but I simply pointed out a few things to her, she tried to justify her behavior as "I've never had a roommate before". Whatever--some time tomorrow I'll try to talk to the CA to get that mess out of the room, because if she's not living here she ain't keepin her stuff in here. My stubborn mood is kicking in, so I've made that final step from "Is it something I've done?" to "Well, I'm not putting up with her, so too damn bad" that her sense of self-importance is greatly exaggerated. Whatever.
Anyways, it's been a good week. The weather finally cleared up, it was very nice this weekend. Went to Grandma's to help plan my aunt's wedding (well, my cousin and I simply showed up to the meeting with the accompanist, we're singing), just a chance to relax and chill.
And there is much joy in Mudville that the mighty Casey has struck out, for the last time! (What'd you expect in an opera, a happy ending?) THe stadium performances were actually very fun, the audiences really got enthusiastic so that in turn gave the performers an extra boost. But we're all glad to actually have time to get work and study and everything fixed. Later all, take care.

Observer, I saw that you think you may have Welsh heritage. How far back have you gone in your search? I have traced one side of my family back to 16th century Ireland! I'm just curious, because I love talking about things like this. If you think I'm being too nosy, just ignore me!

As this rant didn't belong on the other thread about TV affecting people's lives .....
while I don't care if anyone references any of my posts; when that reference is taken off board and NOT introduced throughly (Observer did a great job) then things are out of context. That is not only RUDE, but it is akin to STEALING. I am not partial to thieves.
I only post on this board, I don't even visit other chat forums, I sometimes visit and skim other CI sites; it is just that this board fits me best. If anyone can be helped by reading my posts & stories - then I give permission to share them. To take them and then grip about me and my personality - well, we can imagine what I think of those who do that.

NicoleMarie,I don’t know that much about the possible Welshman. There was a genealogy done for my father’s family, and in Colonial Virginia one of the names that popped up is one that apparently is usually a Welsh name. I don’t even remember the name right now, and the genealogist wasn’t able to trace him back any further, so we don’t know where he came from. On my mother’s side there’s Irish and British, but depending where the British folk came from there may be some Welsh or closely related blood there, as well. I’ve always been intrigued by Wales. Somewhere among my (currently mostly boxed up) books I’ve got a very old copy of the Mabinogion that’s nicely annotated with the meanings of some of the Welsh names (the “(g)wen,” for instance, in Gwendolyn and other similar names means “white,” so Caridwen may mean [something]white). I can remember, as a quite young kid, being offended by the fact that the crown prince of England was called the Prince of Wales. I was young enough that I didn’t even have a concept of the troubles in Ireland, but I had a similar gut reaction – that Wales was its own place with its own qualities, and shouldn’t be ruled by the King or Queen of a different culture. Nikki,Thanks for the update on Culp. Totally cool !! This “Early Bird” series, is it already showing, or something that will be starting soon? I need to find a Dead Zone website with an episode listing, so I can tell you which episode (or even which season!) the one with Culp was. It was such a great episode, and at the end you realize something about Culp’s character that is so perfectly in-character with what Kelly would have been doing... the whole episode gives the feeling that someone connected with that show was an I Spy fan. It’s really great. I’m still staying with my sister in a too-small apartment (a “temporary” arrangement that has stretched out inconveniently long, as getting the house we inherited into livable shape has been more of a project than anticipated...) so my tapes are stored in totally disorganized ways – but I’m keeping my eye out for the tape with that episode, and if I find it I’ll send it to you. It’s an episode no Culp fan should miss! Metella,As usual, on questions that involve issues of personal respect, you and I are in agreement. I, too, think people should be careful about quoting others, especially taking a quote from one board to another. I was hesitant in this case, but there was enough cross-over with the people involved that I felt it would be okay. In cases that involve people who don’t post on the second board, I would generally not quote them without getting permission first. Hi, Rom,Good to see you! I finally got around to posting a reply to you on the Erbe thread on the Universal board. That thread has gotten so diffused (those darned D’Onofrio fans... they get into everything, don’t they? ) that I’m thinking about collecting the stuff about the Eames character and starting a new thread just focused on what we know about Eames’ backstory and characteristics. I’m not sure which board to start it on, or whether to start it on both... I’m still reluctant to completely abandon the official board that’s linked to both the networks, and Dick Wolf’s site, as well; but more and more, dealing with the prevailing culture over there just makes me feel tired.

Observer, I've found that 'temporary' most often does not mean short-term. ;D It's a good thing that you and your sister are best of friends. Early Bird is a new series, for fall (at least, I presume it will be in the fall) when the new season begins. The Dead Zone episode with RC is from the second season and is titled The Man Who Never Waswww.epguides.com/DeadZone/We get TDZ on two separate stations. The Space Channel is currently re-working its way through the first season. Hopefully, this time, when the RC episode reairs, I'll remember. Rom, nice to see you again.

Metella, I also agree with you, and apologize if my use of Sirenna's post from the other board offended you (I've edited it out of my post in the other thread). I would not usually quote someone from another board without first being granted permission, but it was my impression from reading the thread that Sirenna was aware of the fact we were discussing that particular post and did not mind having it attributed to her. It wasn't my intention to take her words out of context, but rather to provide added context to the discussion on this board. But you're quite right, I didn't independently seek her permission, and I should've. Please be patient with a newbie here -- I keep sticking my big, ungainly foot in my mouth.

Don't feel bad Goreneames! I posted a comment from this board on the Uni board without seeking permission a few months ago. (I think it was a post by either Trisha or Metella.) Someone from here told me that was naughty. I've stuck my foot in my mouth too. I'm still a newbie so I still stick *both* my feet in my mouth. hehehehe And Patcat, thanks for the explanation! I think I need to read more! hehehehe And Metella, I didn't think you were implying not to post on the other board. You post was after my post saying that I liked posting on both boards. I may be jumping the gun the gun in my assumption but I just wanted to make sure. NicoleMarie

goreneames; I didn't want you to take off your post; but what I want wouldn't matter anyway - it would be Sirenna; and she didn't seem to mind. I personally would NOT mind if my posts were taken anywhere, as long as they were taken in the spirit I wrote them. I acutally wish you had left it - as it does ADD to the thread and now posts after it may not make sense - ARGUE for yourself with me, don't just let me have my way; how will I ever learn and grow up if you guys don't parent me? ? Seriously, don't feel damned if you do & damned if you don't - I'm just letting you know you are welcome to disagree with me. I know I am almost always in the minority; but I crave to know what & why others think in a different way than I do; most especially people I think are not brain-dead. (that's you, eh? a compliment, eh? - ah I must not have had my coffee yet.)

Metella, Naw, don't worry. If I didn't agree with you, I wouldn't have edited my post. Trust me, I'm never a shrinking violet when it comes to arguing a point I believe in, but when I recognize I'm wrong (which hardly ever happens [kidding]) it doesn't make sense to stand my ground just for the sake of saving face. In my opinion, the post/thread is fine without the quote. And for those left scratching their heads, the Universal board is just a cyber-stop away and people can cruise on over and get the full context if they wish. In fact, I think that's what LOCIfan did, and it makes more sense than just taking a single post out of context. NicoleMarie, Glad me and my big, ungainly foot aren't alone!! ;D
