Hot showers and coffee in the morning.
And this board, as an escape from my reality. Thanks to all of you!

I am currently very thankful for Blake (the most generous and patient human I know), all my animals, my home, my current semblance of health, carbs, new thigh high socks, freshly brewed tea on a stormy night, and my so far (knock on wood) successful home business.

A great roommate. Everybody has their quirks and annoyances, but she's an art major whose projects really give the room some character. Besides, this past week I've just been tired and in a general BLAH mood. Yesterday, after a run to the drugstore, she came back with a Charlie Brown Christmas figure for me (Charlie Brown and his pathetic tree):
"Normally I don't hold with Christmas displays before Thanksgiving, but you love Peanuts and Charlie Brown. Besides, I had to go ahead and get it before you bought it for yourself." Awww, just made me feel a whole lot better.
What else am I grateful for? A relatively easy end of the semester. Loving parents and family. A fun mellow dorm with cool people hanging around. Interesting books to read. Good music, whether I'm singing it in a choir or absorbing it. "The Daily Show"/"Colbert Report", so I can laugh. Turner Classic Movies. The little boys I babysit back home. Cleo, my cat with all her cranky affection. That Mrs. T came through alright, Sirenna's new nephew, that Nikki and her family were able to be with her Dad. This board: great discussion and loving friends through cyberspace.

How thoughtful of you to include Mrs. T, Catbird.
I have many things to be thankful for, but the early detection of my wife's cancer and her getting through her treatments have to be at the top of my list this year. I also give thanks for this board and the many wonderful people here who have expressed their good wishes, supported me for the past several months, and who have discussed and debated with me for the past 2 1/2 years I have been a member.
Here's my early wish for a very Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who will celebrate this week. Cherish your family, friends and loved ones, and make the time to connect--or re-connect--with someone. A peaceful and safe holiday to all!

My family, friends, good health, freedom, home, too many to mention. It's so easy to take for granted all the things we should be thankful for. Thanks for reminding us Sarahlee

I'm thankful to be alive. And, because I have a disability that threatens to have me in a wheelchair, I'm thankful for the ability to be able to walk. It's one people take for granted but I cherish it every day. When I couldn't walk for three months after surgery, I promised myself I would never ever ask anyone to fetch me anything again. I'm thankful for my friends (they are few) but they are the best. Wendy Hugs

My children. They are turning out to be genuinely nice people, whom I like, as well as love.

Good health, healthy and happy family, friends and pets. I'm happy with that.
Once the important things have been mentioned, then: chocolate, my new laptop, season two on dvd, holidays, that I've reached the size I wanted, my new jeans, more rain after a very dry summer and a new year at the university (that's why I'm so quiet lately)
