Deathroe, if you like and understand Donne, you are my intellectual superior, but I really enjoyed the interplay of our current medical practices and Donne's sonnets. WIT also has an excellent performance by Christopher Llyod.
It was an excellent movie, but it was one where I sat down and watched it twice. I tend to be up and about watching tv comedies and mysteries. This was a challenging movie, but worth the work.

Watched Cloverfield. Different take on monster from space theme. I don't like trying to watch a movie that was filmed with a hand held camera. It was like The Blair Witch Project.

Also saw Alien vs. Predator. Sequels are seldom as good as the original. Nothing so far has compared with the first Alien. A couple came close but none better.

National Treasure 2. Ho-hum. Just didn't have the same punch as the first one.

A couple of friends of mine really liked the first NATIONAL TREASURE, but I have to confess that I found its plot to be less logical than most of the "B" movies from the 1930s and 1940s. They enjoyed the second one, but found it not as good as the first. I plan to avoid it.

The first movie is usually very good and you into seeing the sequel with the same expectation and are usually disappointed. It was still an OK movie.....better than most I've seen lately.

I saw last night on the news that Sydney Pollack died. I saw him in the movie with George Clooney and he was excellent as usual. He had talent in front of the camera and behind it.

No one's intellectual superior. But I do make the odd pathetic attempt to teach it, and Emma Thompson tends to be wonderful, so. I wish I had something useful to contribute to this thread. I was planning on seeing Baby Mama, but I never knew that Tina Fey called another human being a piece of sh*t (shouldn't really matter who it was, even if it was Paris Hilton). I think 30 ROck is hilarious, but I really can't deal with the idea of someone calling someone else that ... for you Mothership fans, I did see that the Emmy-winning Holocaust miniseries, featuring Moriarty, is out on DVD. They don't have it on Netflix, but they DO have Hitler Meets Christ as a save--I don't know--think I might be kind of afraid to watch that one ...

I just rented Ratigooey (what I call it) aka Ratatouille - loved it. Probably sounds odd after I'd been raving and wanting to see it since I got a 10min preview of it on my tivo. I finally rented it and it was just as good as I thought it would have been. I also rented "Aquateen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters" - an MA ani film. IF you've ever seen the show you would know what it's about. I recently discovered the wonders of this show. It's mostly just random stuff - that pot heads would love. Meatwad is my hero! Perfume-The Story of a Murder, The thought of it was intriging, a man with an acute sense of smell ( sounds like anyone we know?) becomes determined to capture the scent of a woman, leads to him murdering them. It has Ben Whishaw who I have never seen before, but you feel sorry for him, it also stars Dustin Hoffman and Alan Rickman it got 3.6 stars out of 5 on Netflicks and with Hoffman and Rickman I thought I would give it a try, but in the end I was disappointed. - Really? I liked it. Thought it was interesting. Why were you disappointed? Also If you haven't watched Perfect Stanger with Halley Berry and Bruce Willis, the ending is worth it. Hide and Seek was good too, with Robert De Niro. - Really I've heard both of them are horrible. "Atonement" starring Keira Knightley, James McAvoy, and Vanessa Redgrave. It was slow in the middle, but worth the wait. - I just saw that after someone mentioned that McAvoy was the new Plummer - didn't think so. But I very much enjoyed that film. What a tragic romance! National Treasure 2. Ho-hum. Just didn't have the same punch as the first one. - I know I'm biased but I can't stand Nicholas Cage & Most Bruckheimer films. I thought the first one was horrible and I went when the second one came out.

I'm so glad you liked RATATOUILLE (actually, RATAGOOEY makes sense too!). Loved that movie.
Nicholas Cage--since he won the Oscar, his choices have been disappointing. What happened to the actor who was so wonderful in that movie with Cher--MOONLIGHTING wasn't it?

The Big Lebowski
A movie with Jeff and Bill together - what more could you ask for. AND it imparts a "zen-like acuity."
Also spawned some research grants in Academia...http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/30/books/30lebowski.html?_r=1&hp
