No real snarks in this episode, except for Ross' comment about playwrights. I chose lines from poems about silence for the poll options. Vote--and break the dark cycle of silence in our polls.

Enjoyed the episode. I think Eames is a little interested in the new officer. Ross seemed alright with it also. I got the feeling Goren on some level might feel like odd man out. I don't think it's because he has a love interest in Eames, but merely the fact that another person trespassing in their "club" throws it off balance a bit. He's comfortable with the working dynamics of their partnership. The back and forth between these two men in the stands left me wondering if Goren was pushing hard just for the case or some other reason. Perhaps a territorial thing and he was establishing his turf. He seemed determined that things were going to be done his way for the sake of the case, or so he said. He did seem a bit perplexed when Eames was not at her desk. I get the feeling that Goren likes it when the routine is maintained. The new man upset the routine. At least Goren didn't lift his leg on her desk.

Well, I thought it a solid episode, not going through the numbers but no magic spark. Hence the B.

I gave it an A, I liked it, or maybe its just that I got my fix of G/E. At least Goren didn't lift his leg on her desk. Now you made me spit my tea all over my keyboard as I was thinking the same exact thing.

Diablodeblanco, good line, LOL.
I gave this one a B. Great concept for the relationships framework in exploring the issues of people who are deaf, especially in bringing out that some deaf people want a separate community ("give me a deaf cop, a deaf judge, and a deaf jury"). Excellent performances from the guest actors. I thought the writers dealt well with the many ideas that were presented, especially the conflicts within the deaf community itself.
At the end, though, this absorbing part of the story was pulled under by the lackluster finale to the crime itself. It was irksome, as well, that the confession came so easily, and I felt that was due simply to the need to end the show. The drama outside the interrogation room in the final scene helped a little, just not enough.

Agree with you Dan, on the disappointing conclusion. Tommy was such a nothing character throughout the entire episode. To make him the killer was anti climatic, to say the least. As Techguy stated, jealousy & fear of abandonment as motives are below CI's standards at this point. Also, it was unclear to me whether or not Tommy accidentally killed the Doctor by pressing on his throat too hard, or it was his death deliberate?
There's an article that goes on to say that now the Detectives in CI just follow the perps around and tail them until they confess on their own ( or something to that affect). That's what this episode reminded me of.

I can't bring myself to give a G/E epi less than a B. This one didn't thrill me.

Donna, the bit about the detectives just following the perps around until they confess on their own would be pretty funny if it didn't have so much truth in it lately.
From Tommy's reaction to what Goren told him, I got the feeling that he hadn't meant to crush the doctor's windpipe; but I'm not certain about that matter.

I get the impression that Tommy didn't mean to kill the doctor, he only intended to stop the doctor from calling out for help. Someone in the final scene says something to the effect "You didn't have to kill him." Since he couldn't hear, Tommy didn't realize that he had broken the doctor's windpipe and therefore the doctor couldn't make another audible sound. Tommy kept up the assault (until the doctor died) because Tommy thought the doctor was still screaming and could be heard.
