So, to help enliven the summer doldrums and get us through the reruns:
What do you hope and/or fear for the next season?

I fear a Nicole redux.
I'm hoping for more of Goren's friends. It didn't seem as if there were as many this season as there was in the first. His friends - and Eames reactions - always crack me up.
If the second season DVD's came out I could compare. Bitter, bitter, bitter, lol.

I'd like to see Nicole gone, too, but preferably in a blaze of glory.

I hope for a shamless action packed car chase with Eames at the wheel and Goren leaning so far forward we are all in fear of his cracking his skull when she turns the wheel or creams the brakes.

next season i hope to see nicole wallace die a painful death. and also would like to see goren screw up. As far as Nicole dying a painful death... too easy, i'd love to see Alex be the one to take her down/out (depending on how the writers want to do it), i also love the chase idea! One more thing, Bobby will never screw up, b/c he is a genius AND he is good at what he does, his skills are so honed & trustworthy that they are nearly 100% spoof-proof. Like me & horses, i have been riding & working closely with horses sence the age of 8 (i'm 22 now) & my 'horse sense' skills are so honed in that if i tell someone that their horse is going to spook hard to the left then they will, i have NEVER EVER been wrong b/c my skills are so fine tuned... Same with Goren.

In fact, we've already seen Goren misjudge situations (Suite Sorrow, Zoonotic/Person of Interest). And actually, if you consider becoming too personally involved with a suspect "screwing up", we just saw that in Semi-Detached. People screw up, and geniuses are people. No matter how finely tuned one's abilities, there is always a margin for error. That tension makes for interesting drama.

True it does make it intresting as for the 'mistake' he did get her confession in the end did he not? Isnt that all that matters? I watched the whole show but i have been fighting the flu for a few days now & was kind of out of it with a temp of 103 on sunday & can't remember. But it was getting personally involved that got her to got her to confess, she was also insane in some way or another wasnt she? stalking her ex hubby or something? I also can't recall who killed the radio DJ. Ok perhaps he crossed the line a little in doing that but i dont really view that as an all out mistake/screwup because when someone crosses the line that uaually know that they've crossed it.

No, where screwing up is concerned, I don't think obtaining a confession is all that matters, because it's Goren's investigative process -- from beginning to end -- that's compelling. Even if the end result (which, in these cases would be convictions, not merely confessions) is what Goren hoped for, I think it is possible for him to screw up along the way. I find it interesting to watch how Goren reacts and recovers (or doesn't) when he missteps and misjudges. There was lots of that going on in Semi-Detached. However, if failing to nab the criminal is your definition of "screwing up", then Nicole Wallace fits the bill. According to either standard, our resident genius has screwed up in the past.

Well there would have to be other factors in the failure to nab the bad guy, such as was any evidence overlooked during the investigation (& overlooking things happens to every body)? Once the evidence was gathered, how was it presented? Things like that. As for the most recent episode, yes i also enjoyed seeing how Goren reacts when he realizes that he's over looked something or didnt catch something... LOL he reacts a little like me when i overlook something, however inferior it might be. Most of that 'never screwing up' coff in my last post was mostly smoke, between the lines i was saying that i dont want him to screw up, not because i'll think any the less of the character, but because his reaction truely pains me because he beats himself up so badly for it. LOL he's my fave character in TV today (sence the ending of the show Angel that the vampire 'Spike' was on ) because i love how he handles his job & it doesnt hurt that he's pretty good looking too I love boards like this, i love getting to see everyone else's view on a certian subject! It's great! ;D
