sun sentinel.comCelebrity Q&A Part-time job OK with Noth Posted November 6 2005What's happened to Chris Noth since Sex and the City ended last year? You must be a Desperate Housewives fan. Otherwise, you'd realize that Noth has returned to television as Detective Mike Logan, the role he played on Law & Order in the early '90s. It was his growing rep on that series as a man's man loved by women that led to his role as Big on SATC. Now, NBC is clearly hoping that his sex appeal will help counteract the huge popularity of Housewives, which plays opposite Law & Order: Criminal Intent on Sunday evenings. The situation is ironic since Noth and L&O producer Dick Wolf parted on bad terms when Noth quit the series in 1995, allegedly because Noth wanted to announce he was quitting and Wolf told him he was fired. Noth says he's glad he's no longer on the HBO show that made him an international star. "As an actor you appreciate the security of a job," he told People. "But I don't ever want to get too comfortable." In his new series, the 50-year-old will star in 11 of 22 episodes, with Vincent D'Onofrio, who collapsed from exhaustion last year, heading the other 11. Offscreen, Noth is a "confirmed bachelor" who enjoyed a five-year relationship with model Beverly Johnson. More recently, he has been dating actress Tara Wilson, whom he met when she was working as a waitress at The Cutting Room, a music club he co-owns in Manhattan.
