For all VDO fans in the UK The Cell is showing on Sunday 9th April on channel 4 @ 10pm. Haven't seen it myself so I have no idea how good/bad it is. ENJOY xx ;D

I thought this movie was pretty disturbing, and I saw the "edited for television" version on USA network.

I watched the 'edited for t.v.' version myself. I've had the dvd for almost a year and have been afraid to watch it after reading VD'O's interviews about the movie. Looks like they edited a LOT, which is why I don't generally watch movies on television.
He did a lot of research on the character and did an amazing job in the movie. He talks about being really disturbed while researching. If if I can find someone to sit with me and watch the dvd I'll eventually do it!
I have the "Hannibal Lechter" movies, too, but was sooooo creeped out I can't bring myself to watch them, either!

Watch "The Cell." Vincent doesn't act in this one. He virtually shows up and ultimately blows everyone else out of the water. There are only a few scenes where we see the character of Carl and those short moments are really good. This would have been a great movie if it hadn't been a vehicle for JLO.

well i did watch this movie and i am sorry i thought that it was abit disturbing of what it was about, with our vinnie being the victim of what he was doing with kidnapping and seeing those loops in his back made me really sick

Creeeepy! I didn't realize that the doll had a red band around its neck (like it was choked) and what's the deal with the black eyes? Runny mascara?
I recently saw the edited version for television. The most disturbing scene was cut, where Karl is suspended over the dead girl by hooks in his back. I guess because it was an implied sex scene.
Personally, I hated the film. When I first saw it, I didn't know who VDO was. It was disjointed & JLo can't act, IMO. Even now, I don't like the scenes with Vincent in costume & make up, he looks ridiculous. I am impressed by the scenes where he is Karl - phenomenal acting, especially knowing what he's like in person. He really looks & acts deeply deranged and quietly dangerous.

Uhh, the sex scene involves Karl suspended by hooks attached to rings that pierce his back and legs while he masterbates over the victim. I had the DVD.

My favorite scene from the movie is Karl sitting in his bathtub up to his chin in the water. I love it when he began spitting the bath water out. Aside from that, the rest of the movie is creepy.
