The mothership's landmark Season 20 begins filming this month on the streets of New York.
One of the first stories it will tackle has the Manhattan D.A.'s office locking horns with the U.S. Department of Justice over the treatment of Middle Eastern detainees.
No word yet whether Season 20 L&O will debut in fall or -- as in recent years -- follow the end of football in January 2010. The imdb site lists the initial air date as Wednesday, September 23, 2009 but that's unlikely since the most recent public statements from showrunner Rene Balcer refer to placement in an (unfortunate) Friday evening slot.

A very topical subject. I like how many of the storylines in Law & Order tackle such sensitive issues.
Thanks for the update Annabelle.

Thanks for the wonderful news, Annabelle. I suppose we are to assume that McCoy won the heated race for Manhattan District Attorney? They left us hanging in the season finale. I can't wait to see how they address that.
