Best birthday wishes to all the October babies. Pumpkins for everyone!
Can't wait for Halloween, on a Saturday this year. What could be a better night. Neighbors have already decorated their houses, weird music is playing and I'm trying to decide what to be this year. I tried to pass out little black kittens one year, the kids loved it, the parents--not so much. Maybe I'll hide my rats in my pockets and let them peak out when the little ones come calling. Gosh, I love Halloween.

I hope you're joking about the black kittens. This is a time of year when animals are often abused, especially cats, and especially black cats.
I confess I might be more sensitive than usual about this, since my beautiful black cat Max has entered my life.

Hehe, I've been fighting my Halloween-decoration all week - the giant spider web wouldn't cooperate - but now my living room begins to look like a crypt and this year my daughter will have her first own Halloween-Party! I love Halloween, although I am a little lonely with this love, here in Germany My daughters godmother just told a newcomer in our church how much she loves my Halloween-Parties, they would be almost like in the States. Now that was a compliment! ;D How do you actually celebrate Halloween?

I don't remember if this was ever mentioned on the board NikkiGreen, but do you celebrate Diwali? If so, then I wish you a bright and joyful day and a New Year blessed with prosperity.
President Obama is the first US President to personally join an event celebrating the Indian festival of lights.

Yes, I do, Techguy. Thank you. Not so much since 2005, when both my parents fell ill. There was to be a family get together this year at my eldest sister's house, but my BIL's sister passed away on Saturday from cancer. Maybe next year.

Happy Diwali, Nikki. I think it's wonderful, and about time, that the White House had such a celebration. I'm sure the Republicans are having a field day with this, though. Somehow twisting this into a bad thing. I hope I'm wrong. I dread reading what Rush Limbaugh had to say.

Oh Patcat, I didn't mean to upset you. I wasn't fooling about those black kittens. (I have just a "few" years (about 30) of rescue and placement of animals.) It was just fun watching the parents faces. 3 black cats live with me, Zorro, Tazmanian Devil Girl, and Shadow. Wasn't fooling about the rats either. I don't know why so many people don't like rats. Mine make me laugh all the time.
I promise, no parent scaring this year. Just loads of candy!
Oh, and October is Adopt-A-Dog Month. A great time to bring a furry little friend into your life.

BTD;
Oh, no problem. I'm just uber sensitive about animals, especially cats, and especially black cats, since Max the wonder cat came into my life. My profuse apologies for casting any aspersions on you and your love of animals.
Three black cats--How do you tell them apart?
