Oh, me too. My dad had just had gall bladder surgery that morning (it's out-patient, so we were home by noon,) and we had to turn the news off because it was making us all sick thinking of that scared little boy, freezing to death at 7000ft.
My dad is still shocked that it was hoax because, what sort of people would do something so cruel to get famous?
Well, they're infamous now. Hope they enjoy the spotlight shining into every weird, ugly and iniquitous corner of their lives.

If you haven't already, be sure to see the new mothership episode "Reality Bites." It was on last Friday. It's all about reality shows and how crazy people act to get on (like murdering someone). It's in my dvr waiting for me. I'm glad you brought this up, because I will probably have time to watch it this evening

lot of people make their kids do squirrely things, like hockey or stage mothers/fathers. And lots of people make fake emergency calls to 911 ( I should know - not a summer goes by that someone doesn't yank a fire alarm in my apt building just for kicks)
But it's certainly a crazy combination to have both those personalities wrapped up in the same parent.

I was giving them the benefit of the doubt at first .... then even thinking the boy did it on his own for attention .... then in that interview - the expression - almost frozen - the mom got - it sealed it for me. That kid was coached, those parents set this up and they should repay every penny to rescue companies that wasted their time on them.
Then I see the dad took these little kids "storm chasing" that is endangerment ! If I were a grandparent - I'd start to sue for custody just over that.
