Does it seem that Ms. Erbe has had a somewhat higher public profile recently? Not that she doesn't deserve it.

Yeah. It does. I'm so pleased for her. I think she's one of the most severely under-rated actresses out there! Although, I am wondering just what got the ball started on it though. Either way, it's brilliant exposure for her. Wendy Hugs

Self-actualization often results after a divorce or separation. It was around the time of her split with her husband Terry that we started hearing about how Eames would be getting more lines and exposure on the show. Couple that with the increase in appearances (i.e. Jeopardy) and perhaps Kate took a long hard look at her career, not just at her personal life, when the split happened. Just a thought

That's interesting. I know it's not polite to comment on something like that, but I never really connected the two. Still, good for her though We need more Katie and less Britney.

Thought I'd expand on my earlier post. I'm thinking it's more likely to have been the pressures of two young children that kept her profile low. Now they're pretty much old enough to take care of each other, I'm expecting her to become more active again (The marriage and divorce may have contributed, but I imagine they would have comprised a secondary factor). The Britney comment was aimed more at Tabloid Celebrities in general, I just needed an immediately-identifiable image, and I'm sure there's at least one person here who likes Jennifer or Angelina In a way I'm glad Kathryn's had a low profile over the last few years; I'd be very concerned if the magazines start taking an interest

I think the fact that she is low profile draws more viewers to her than if she appeared all over the place. It encourages viewers to seek out her other works. I like Mariska Hargitay and I am glad to read that she is remaining on SVU but since I have watched both actresses in other movies or TV shows, I will make the statement that Kathryn Erbe is a more versatile actress than Mariska Hargitay. Kathryn Erbe is able to play such a variety of characters. In addition to CI, her performances in Oz as a regular, Homicide as a guest star, Rich In Love as a young girl concerned about her family, Stir of Echoes and others puts her on the one of the best actresses working on TV list. Plus she can do comedy and drama equally well.

Yupyup. Plus, she doesn't have the pressure from the executives that higher-profile stars will have (ie, surgery, diets, etc).
Anyway, it's over a week ago now; anybody heard anything about the event?
