If only we had some green eggs and ham I think we would all feel better.

Some people would like Vincent on a boat, or on a mote, or with a goat,.....some not so much.

Just can't stop going off topic, can you?
Knock it off!

I was just affirming OBC's principle statement, that some people like Goren/Vincent regardless, and others are for the story.

I apologize for going off topic. I just took MJ statement as an opportunity to lighten the mood and show that though our opinions are very different I don't harbor any ill feelings.

Since this thread is named after the new LOCI cast, this whole debate is off topic. Sorry. I just want to add that if we all agreed, this board would be pretty boring. And there are plenty of other sites (for those who prefer that) where everyone posts how wonderful VDO is, no matter what he does. I wonder, since so many of the new USA shows seem character driven, will LOCI continue to show us more and more of the character's personal lives? I find the casting of MEM intriguing. She has the ability of playing tough/tender, which is suitable for the role of Captain.

My bad for going OT also.
The main reason why I'm goiing to give CI a chance next season is I'm curious about the new cast mix to see if they will integrate into the L&O brand in general and CI in particular. I'm especially interested in whether or not there will continue to be a character driven tone to the episodes, and if there will be more of a balance between the personal and procedural aspects of the writing and acting.

Going OT to comment about going OT...
There is a natural process in conversation where one topic naturally leads to another. Things meander along. It's just the way humans communicate.
Do we really need to start a new thread every time someone posts a thought that began with the topic at hand and morphed into something else? That seems a bit much.

Oh, I think we've wandered pretty far afield, and I apologize for my contribution to it. I know better.

And I didn't start it either. Looking back this thread didn't seem to address its original subject matter much, or consistently.

It's something we are frequently guilty of as OBC points out. Unless it gets nasty or someone objects, I don't see the problem. I like the interjection of humor personally and appreciate yours very much MJ.

Why is it too much? Threads inspired by another thread have been started before.
The occasional wandering is okay, but when it morphs into the likes of green eggs & ham, Charlie Brown and continues from that tangent is another matter entirely.

The occasional wandering is okay, but when it morphs into the likes of green eggs & ham, Charlie Brown and continues from that tangent is another matter entirely. Why? The Charlie Brown comment, was used in agreeing with another poster that we were "beating a dead horse" getting it ready for your "glue factory" with the discussion that was going on, and the Sneetches comment, was agreeing too, that we as posters, need to be careful on how we treat each other while posting our point of views. This thread did not just go "off topic" with Charlie brown and Dr Seuss. This thread went off topic when it became about VDO and Leight instead of who the thread was dedicated to, which was Jeff Goldblum and friends

Okay...I can see the point about the sillyness. I was more thinking of the fact that the thread topic begins as one thing, which sparks many other thought processes and if we started a new thread for each of those meanderings, it sure would amount to a whole lot of new threads.

Up to a point sure, but I think I am normally on topic. This has been a tumultous time in some ways, a little levity is good.
