I think what's interesting about this is that there is deafening silence coming from there. It's obviously not over. There is something going on. I like this woman - and in case you didn't follow the link QUOTE: It's the complete "NO COMMENT" from the Erbe reps that is most telling. Why not release a comment about how great it was being on the show, blah blah. But NOTHING. There should have been something released by today. Maybe there are still talks going on. "It ain't over til it's over", some baseball guy said that.
Vincent and Kathryn ARE L/O C/I. The set of shows that make up the "Law and Order" universe has seen may major actors/characters come and go. The shows still do well. No show has ever had this huge of a shake up. I'm afraid it will be the beginning of the end for CI.

It's disgusting! TPTB at NBCU have never appreciated Kate Erbe's work on LOCI. It's no surprise that the negotiations are taking so long. I'm sure they are trying to penny pinch on her deal. Shameful. I find it hard to believe that VDO wouldn't stick by her & help her with her deal if he can. The guy's loyal, to a fault sometimes.

Well as all media report......."Details about D'Onofrio, Erbe and Bogosian's exit are being worked out". Until USA release a statement on who is in how many, and doing what, not much can be said or done on that front

For inspiration....
CBS to "Jericho" Fans: It Will Return Next Season June 08, 2007 by Eric Reynolds Eric Reynolds
If you're a fan of social bookmarking sites, chances are you've seen the petition going around to bring back the CBS television series "Jericho". Last season when CBS canceled the series because of a low amount of viewers, fans revolted.
In what was a very unexpected announcement today, CBS put out a release letting fans know that they were heard and a listened to, "Jericho" will return next season
CBS to "Jericho" Fans: It Will Return Next Season according to CNN.
In a letter released to the Associated Press, CBS says:
"You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard," Tassler wrote, and seven episodes have been ordered for midseason 2007-08. "In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more 'Jericho,' we will need more viewers."
However, the win doesn't come without an ultimatum. For "Jericho" to remain on the air this time, fans must do their part to help out, they must help spread the word. CBS will be rerunning the first season this summer, as well as allowing full episode streaming videos on their website and releasing the first season on DVD.
Networks have only brought back shows a handful of times in the past due to fan protests. CBS attributes the return of "Jericho" to the well organized fans. Jericholives.com has been ground zero for most of the organization.
"We are tired of the networks (not just CBS) tossing aside quality programming," the website stated. "Enough! We're going to fight for this one." And fight they did, all the way to the winning end. Today Jericholives.com issued the following statement to everyone who helped resurrect the series:
"It is now obvious to those of us who have been writing, calling, and bombbarding the network with nuts (referring to 50,000 pounds of peanuts that fans sent the head offices in New York) that the network cares about us. The employees have been polite, funny and patient with caller after caller. The mailrooms have distributed our letters and found places for the nuts day after day. And most importantly the executives have labored to find a way to make this happen for their viewers. We know that Nina Tassler and Kellu Kahl spent a great deal of time and effort to bring this to pass."

I just wrote an email using the very helpful form on the first page of this thread:
Dear Ms. Hammer,
I'm a german citizen, english is not my first language, please excuse my writing mistakes, I'm doing me very best here.
The anouncement that Vincent D'Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe and Eric Bogosian are set to leave Criminal Intent makes me write to you.
Criminal Intent is quite popular in Germany, due to the good storytelling and the gritty reality of the cases, but mostly because of Mr. D'Onofrios and Mrs. Erbes wonderful characterisation of Goren and Eames.
As a longtime viewer, I'm very disapointed about the end of the series as I know it. Mr. D'Onofrio and Mrs. Erbe created lively fictional characters. In my opinion, this characters, the actors and we as faithful viewers deserve better.
Please reconsider the decisions that lead to this outcome. Thank you.
Heartfelt greetings from Germany
Whoa, I wasn't sure if I wanted to participate, but maybe USA should be reminded that LOCI is a show that is internationally watched. I don't mind if there are some mistakes (I know there are some).
At least I don't feel so helpless anymore.
Thank you for this forum MissJanet

What about contacting Robert Seidman at tvbythenumbers.com? TONS of people visit that site everyday, maybe he can make a post about what we are trying to do!

That last article gives me some hope. One article states that VDO might return for appearences. This last one says he has other projects. More or less saying, You need me, I don't need you. So maybe after a few episodes of low rating without VDO they might be willing to pay him what he deserves. Didn't he want this job so he didn't have to travel so much and be at home with his family? Now with a new baby it would be in his best interest to stay close to home. His comment about doing future appearances means he isn't closing the book on Robert Goren, so I am not giving up hope.

This Fluff idea has caught the imagination of many and is starting to roll. A big thanks to Nantz for her idea!! nantzeefantzeepantz.blogspot.com/2009/09/usa-network-wants-flufflets-send-them.html__________________________ So LISTEN UP - We don't want FLUFF! We want Goren and Eames. But if USA/NBC wants fluff - we'll send them fluff. We have an anonymous donor (bless their little handcuffs) who has DELIGHTFULLY offered to send 10 cases (12 to a case) of Marshmallow Fluff to USA Network on behalf of members of the CI-US board. Members who want to participate can post their names on the site; members who don't want any part of it will therefore not be represented. Real names (and city and state) would be more helpful than cyber-IDs but if people don't want to reveal their real world identities that's okay too. Members should feel free to suggest a one line message to USA and all thoughts will be summarized. This donor will not include any negative message specifically about Jeff Goldblum. The donor will time the Marshmallow Fluff delivery to USA network to coincide with the initial shooting date in New York of the Season 9 CI premiere episode. (October 16th). (good hook for press.) People here and on other sites should be encouraged to send additional Fluff to the same USA network person Unless you want it to sit in the mailroom, it's suggested we send individual fluffs to Jean Guerin Senior Vice President, Communications USA Network 30 Rockefeller Plaza Floor 21 New York, NY 10112
