I can't imagine God allowing schools and hospitals to crumble and crush innocent children, and innocent sick patients and the medical staff that care for them, just to exact punishment on the guilty. Assuming Pat Roberson is right--and I don't believe for a minute he is--then the innocent will meet the same fate as the guilty. In that case, some of Noah's family would have drowned in the flood too.

Pat Robertson - what can I say? I wish the man would THINK before he opens his mouth. As someone in a leadership position, he is held to a higher standard. He should be much more careful with his words, and with the way in which he chooses to interpret world events.
The earthquake was caused by tectonic plates shifting along a fault line under the earth.

According to the book of Exodus Chapter 20 1 And God spoke all these words: 2 "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
3 "You shall have no other gods before me.
4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments. If it is true, like Pat Robertson said that years ago some of the people made a pact with the devil to win their freedom from France. Then maybe he is right. And what if he is right? Should he remain silent, cause its not what people want to hear?. "There is conflict in life when it comes to compassion and standards" anonymous If a person commits a crime (sin) it doesn't just affect the person that the crime happen to, it affects the whole family, on both sides of the Incident . The victim and their family, along with the family of the person, who committed the crime. The aftermath from the crime (sin) spreads out like a virus. Not just one person is hurt. Many innocent people are hurt. So sometimes the innocent are hurt by what one person has done. I'm not saying that Pat Robertson is RIGHT. Only God knows for sure if he is or isn't...... I'm just asking the question, what if he is right, should he remain silent, cause its not what people want to hear?

God did not make an earthquake happen in order to punish Haiti. If Pat Robertson stopped and thought about this for a moment, he'd be asking this question...if the earthquake was to punish Haiti for their sins, then how come San Francisco is still standing??? And then there is the age old adage - sh*t happens. And sometimes it's ugly. You do what you can, and then when it happens again, you pick up the pieces once more and start again.

Pat Roberston is a nasty old fear-mongerer and con-man who preys on the weak-minded and superstitious to fund his lavish life style. The facts speak for themselves. From wikipedia ...
"Controversies surrounding Robertson include his earlier work as a faith healer,[33] his claim that some Protestant denominations harbor the spirit of the Antichrist,[34] and his claims of having the power to deflect hurricanes through prayer;[35] he has also denounced Hinduism as "demonic"[36] and Islam as "Satanic."[37] Robertson has issued multiple condemnations of feminism,[38] homosexuality,[39] abortion[40] and liberal professors.[41] Robertson also had financial ties to former presidents Charles Taylor[42] (Liberia) and Mobutu Sese Seko[43] (Zaire), both internationally denounced for their systemic human rights violations. Robertson was criticized worldwide for his call for Hugo Chavez’s assassination[43] and for his remarks concerning Ariel Sharon's health as an act of God.[44]"
Oh, let's also not forget that he called upon his followers to pray for the death of more Supreme Court justices.
The man has an agenda that has nothing to do with Christ and everything to do with making Pat Robertson more rich and famous and powerful.

Wow, Trisha! The facts certainly are an eye-opener. And very eloquently stated, TG. Thanks you two.
I was watching Jon Stewart last night. He asked an interesting question when he said "have you [PR] even read the book" (mean the Bible) ? I can't believe how some people can't just follow the basic tenets and practice what they preach.
It's been reported that there are at least 50,000 people dead. Those numbers are probably going to higher. The degree of devastation is mind blowing. Will it be so easy for the survivors to pick up those pieces? I doubt it, but I hope so.

Really ? any bible thumpers care to go by the new testiment - not the old? This not a sins of the father issue; but rather a we are all sinners and all we need to do is ask for salvation. If some kind of pact was made it was made generations ago. Why have a jesus if you don't follow his teachings? that is if you claim to be christian. I certainly am not and glad of it. Is this a way to say .... well, if they made a deal with the devil - that means they did something to deserve this. So if I am "good" then I won't deserve it and I will stay safe. I really really want to know why/how anyone can say this was a pact with the devil. I have a dear co-worker who has 7 cousins dead & no word on some other relatives .... she a wonderful person, hard worker, ironically a christian, soft spoken, lovley and family oriented with her mom, grandma ect ...... Were all of the people who died in the quake decendents of the devil-deal? Oh wait, weren't there aid workers who died? Guess that theory doesn't hold. Well, never mind, they shouldn't have been there helping godless sinners. Oh wait, helping sinners see the light is a mandate ..... well never mind; I'll come up with some excuse AND couple it with a call for money so that I can build a new addition on my church. (bitter - um, yah) People like this can't be real preachers. I will say - it makes me less quick to complain about my city's permiting process - and more inclined to be happy for building standards - even though they may cost a lot up front.

The man has an agenda that has nothing to do with Christ and everything to do with making Pat Robertson more rich and famous and powerful. So much WORD to this, Trisha. There is nothing "Christian" about Robertson. Nothing. How people can be duped into believing his crap stuns me. Not only are his words evil and ignorant, they reek of racism. The saddest part of this is that there is relief out there but it cannot reach the people who need it. Thugs and gangs run Haiti, and the US (and other nations) are understandably reluctant to set up a strong military front to enforce the relief effort.

It's not what Pat Robertson said, it's the reaction from most people that causes me great concern. It's no different then the days of the Noah. Romans 3:23 "for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"That would include Pat Robetson, you and I. As for the resource "Wikipedia" Go to google, and type in "Wikipedia" and its states: Wikipedia Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit.www.wikipedia.org/ - Cached - Similar If ANYONE can edit an Encylopedia website, the truth can also be tampered with. Oh and another place to send donations to is www.ob.org Operation Blessing Yesterday my sister and I went to the local thrift store in our area, All their profits were going to Haiti, along with donations. That made me happy, cause I always drop off my garage sale items there. and laugh to myself as I go in the front door to bring home more junk. Don't know if Pat Robertson is right in what he said, like I said earlier, ONLY GOD KNOWS FOR SURE...... but hey, I heard a warning
