What other shows do you watch regularly? Do you care for them as much as you do for LOCI? Is there another detective who can match Robert Goren in your affections?

Only Logan. Other than that I am a throwback; I like the Golden Girls and Sex and the City, though I can appreciate SVU and Psyche. And the Good Wife.

Great question, Patcat. My next favorite show is the current mothership, which contains a great cast under the leadership of our old showrunner for LOCI, Rene Balcer. I also love "Friday Night Lights" which airs on NBC after its run on DirectTV. The new show on TNT "Men Of A Certain Age" is really good. And I do watch "Burn Notice" when its on with new episodes. Guilty pleasure - "American Idol."

She's not a detective, but I absolutely love Chief Johnson. The Closer, Stargate Universe, NCIS, NCIS Los Angeles, The Good Wife, Medium and Law & Order are the shows I watch regularly. And starting this week, "24". Most of the time, I prefer watching the older shows like The Golden Girls, Roseanne and The Cosby Show on DejaVu.

I have never been addicted to a show like I was to LOCI, but The Closer is on a good way in this area.....and I absolutely love Burn Notice. I also enjoy the Mentalist a lot. Oh, and if ever a detective came close to my liking of Goren, it was Monk, of course. Older shows: Does anyone remember "The Equalizer"? And I watched every Perry Mason episode that ever came. And although it might be quite embarassing: I LOVED Murder she wrote.... And in Germany I would never publicly admit it, but I watch the German version of American Idol. And believe me, that IS embarassing, since the level over here is.....well, non-existent would be a nice way of putting it. . This is sheer jealousy, I admit. I'd give a leg for some of the candidates' self-confidence.... ;D

Ahem, I have a deep love affair with the Idiot Box We watch a LOT of movies and television, largely on DVD (thank you for being awesome, Netflix!). The two shows I adore and am obsessed with to the same degree as LOCI (though my LOCI adoration/obsession is now primarily backwards focused) are Mad Men and Doctor Who (the new series). Those are really currently the only shows I'm uber passionate about. Runners up that I enjoy but am not a total nerdy spazz about: Dexter, The Tudors, and the always superb comedy lineup on NBC Thursday (how excited am I that Joel McHale's show is hilarious and successful? SO EXCITED.). Edited because I forgot about the utter delight that is Glee! Now ended shows that I LOVE: Deadwood, Carnivale, Pushing Daisies

I am a crime drama junkie. I watch them all - NCIS, CSIs, Criminal Minds, Bones, Closer, The Forgotten, Cold Case, MI-5, Durham County, Castle, Medium, Numbers - I mean I watch them all. I have 4 VCRs and a DVR so I won't miss anything. I'm not fanatical about particular shows, but I am about the genre. There is no bad cop shows in my book, LOL.

I loved MONK, as a lot of you know, and it helped lead me to LOCI. I've come to really like PSYCHE, which is often hilarious, particularly if you lived through the 80s. (Don't tell anyone, but my favorite character is Lasseter--he tries so hard.) I like BURN NOTICE, but I'm not particularly upset if I miss an episode. I'd like to like WHITE COLLAR, but it just hasn't clicked with me. I'm afraid IN PLAIN SIGHT lost me by dumping too much baggage on its lead character too quickly.
As for other crime shows, I'm always impressed by how well crafted the mothership is. Even the worst L&O episode is well put together. I've outlined my reservations about SVU elsewhere. I like NUMBERS, but I won't miss it after it's gone this year. The CSI shows are all too dark--literally. I can't see what's going on. I wanted to like CRIMINAL MINDS, but the show really does seem to wallow in the depravity of the crimes and the villains. And THE MENTALIST is such a ripoff of PSYCH and MONK and Goren. I've enjoyed BONES, but they need to fish or cut bait as far as the relationship between the two leads is concerned.
My two bits and then some.

I like crime shows too, but its really the personalities that usually draw me in. My current favs our Criminal Minds, I love Garcia and Reed. The NCIS's, I love Gibbs and Co. and I like Linda Hunt in the spin-off. I like Burn Notice because of Bruce Campbell. I like The Closer because of the two older Lts, they crack me up, Kyra Sedgwick's character gets on my nerves and her accent is too fake. I will watch Cold Case and Numbers if I am home, but like Patcat I will not miss either of them if this is their last season. The CSI's are ok, but nothing special, I actually find my self enjoying the Miami one more this season because of Walter, the new coroner (Socrates from Brisco County Jr.) and the new good looking CSI. I never liked the Delko character and am glad he is gone. Two British shows I enjoy, but am not sure are coming back are Primeval and Torchwood. My all time favorite shows with LOCI at the top includes Hawaii Five-0, Starsky and Hutch, In The Heat of The Night, X-Files, Highlander, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., Nero Wolfe, Jack of all Trades and Magnificent Seven.

I like "Burn Notice" and I find "White Collar" entertaining. I watched "Human Target". I can see tweeners liking it. "In Plain Sight" has lost something with me too. I'm not liking Marshal mooning over Mary's engagement. I like "NCIS" and the spin-off is okay. I must admit the Law & Order franchise set the bar when it comes to crime shows. When I watch other crime shows I find myself thinking, "been there, seen that." My guilty pleasure is "Millionaire Matchmaker."
