Boxing and dog fighting. 2 of my favorite subjects--NOT! It didn't help matters that I had Sal pegged as the psycho killer the moment he appeared on screen. What a guy. It also didn't help matters that I didn't care about any of the characters except the exploited dogs.
When I heard Ralph Macchio was going to be a guest star this season I kept looking for him to show up eventually. So this what it's come to for him. Where's Pat Morita or Mr. Miyagi when you need him most?

I confess I caught this episode in fragments, but I was disturbed a bit by Nichols' seeming to like boxing. Was I right about that? Little too much of the intellectual admiring the physical for me. I've noticed that some people who like boxing are people who've never participated in it. Not all, mind you. Just some.

Michael B. Jordan, the young boxer, is now a recurring member on my beloved "Friday Night Lights." His appearance made this episode a little better for me, but not much. Alicia Witt also has a recurring role as a single mom. And Ralph Macchio? What a pitifully small "guest" role.
A good take on the Michael Vick story, although I had much more sympathy for this kid who took the rap and redeemed himself than for Vick himself. The mothership did a better episode involving dog fighting last season.
Did anyone else wonder about Serena's comments and implied knowledge of Zack's father's personality when he told her about growing up watching boxing with him? As if this episode was supposed to have occurred after "Three-In-One?"
