Contrast Doris Roberts' expression of grief (image 16) with Malcolm MacDowell's in "Proud Flesh" and it's just not the same level of intensity. His had power and it was all acted through the position of his mouth. Her's is through the eyes but somehow eyes never convey grief as much as a tight mouth. It's the holding in of overflowing intense emotion that makes the face.
