maherjunkie and I discovered that we live in the same city and now we are movie buddies! Last night we saw The Help and LOVED it! I kept whispering "We had a green phone on the wall like that...my grandma had a blue bathroom like that..." but as much as I enjoyed the '60s sets, the story completely pulled me in and stayed with me. About the movieWe laughed, we cried, she had Raisinets and I had M&Ms... I read the book (same title) and recommend it too! The movie follows the story very closely, but there are more details that just can't be squeezed into a 2 hr. film.

Saw this again over Christmas break with the family. My husband and I made it "mandatory" family movie night with the older 2 kids (ages 13 and 11). They grumbled and fussed about having to see 'that boring grown-up movie', but after a short time they were completely engrossed and really enjoyed it. We had to pause it a lot to answer questions, but we all enjoyed it and I'm glad my kids got to see how the times have changed!

Did you go into detail about how this is the type of phone your grandmother had as a kid? ;D
