Anybody watch this show? I think it's deliciously gruesome. A serial killer with a code of honor, what a paradox!
The season 2 premiere is Sunday September 30th on Showtime.

There are reports that repeats (heavily edited) of DEXTER may appear on CBS starting after the New Year.

There are reports that repeats (heavily edited) of DEXTER may appear on CBS starting after the New Year. It's true. Not only CBS but CTV will also air edited versions of this Showtime cable show.
The CBS announcement comes from Televisionaryblog: CBS will air edited versions of the twelve episodes from Dexter's first season on Sunday nights at 10 pm, beginning February 17th.The CTV announcement comes from Reuters: An edited version of the American crime drama "Dexter" is coming to Canadian broadcast television on February 17...in simulcast with CBS...The drama will fill the 10 p.m. Sunday slot previously occupied by "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."

I'm curious--how many people plan to give this show a try tomorrow night when it comes to CBS?
I'm inclined to watch it just because all of the TV watchdogs are condemning it (g). (Hey, if your kid is up at 10 pm on a Sunday night, you've got a lot more problems than what they're watching on TV, all I say.)
But those of you who've seen it--is it worth a try?

I've already seen season 1 but will watch just to see the extent of editing. It is worth watching because it's a very paradoxal series and it shakes up your sense of morality, ethics and everything along that line!
Good and bad coexist within Dexter in such a natural way that it becomes scary. How fast I accepted and sometime even applauded the fact that Dexter is a serial killer made me think twice about themes like justice, values, etc. Every episode I battle with this dilemna: is it acceptable to kill someone...even if he/she deserves it? The jury is still out on that one!

I found it fascinating and enjoyed the black humor. The plot had a couple of holes, but perhaps those will be explained in future episodes. Some of the supporting characters seemed a bit over the top to me, but that may be because I haven't quite figured out if they're meant to be slight caricatures or viewed through Dexter's skewered vision of what people are.
Michael C. Hall is amazing as Dexter. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to play the part of a man who is acting nearly all of the time.

I caught the show last night. I will watch it next week. I think for me the idea of being able to remove from society the predators of women and children is something I can understand. The predators have managed to slip through the loopholes of the legal system. Enter Dexter.....a man from a damaged childhood who does what a faulty legal system is unable to do.......A man who is painfully aware of his urges and makes the choice to use his evil for good. Yes, he enjoys it. I think that is one of the facets of his character that keeps the storyline moving. He reminds me of that ugly fish that moves along the bottom of the tank cleaning up after the other pretty fish swimming around oblivious to his presence. He is necessary but not especially attractive.

I just saw this show the other nite. Wow.. I loved it. He is truly a vulture. A necessary evil so to speak.
I had heard of it, but we don't subscribe to either showtime or hbo. There are a lot of show we have to wait till they are cleaned up and put out off the subscription networks. My husband saw it a few times while he travels and told me how good it was. Now the language was cleaned up, probably some of the bloody scenes, but the core of the show seems to have been televised. Didn't seem to be any worse than Criminal Minds.

I just love this show... It's scary how he brings us to actually sympathize with (and like) a cold blooded serial killer. I feel sorry for the character!

I really liked the first few episodes I saw of this show. But then I started feeling the ongoing mystery--The Ice Truck Murderer--wasn't hanging together very well. Then I missed an episode, and it didn't bother that I missed it, and I've just not gotten back to it. It's appalling in a way, but I'd really rather watch a LOCI rerun than a new episode of DEXTER.
