I have read several posts about how the TV Guide resembles People and is almost useless in regard to TV listings. I am interested in knowing how most people who still subscribe or purchase TV Guide feel about the new format? Does anyone think this magazine will be around in the current format in a year?

There are some articles I find interesting, but as for being useful, it isnt. It is a gossip magazine now for the most part and is seriously lacking in the amount of listings. All prime time and a general, this is what is on during the week thing. Not helpful at all !! My subscription runs out in July and we have decided to probably not renew it. The guide on my tv is better and I can see when certain shows play during the week and set up my reminders and all that jazz. Tv Guide sucks. But the new on just came in yesterday and it included an article about the top 10 quirkiest detectives of all time and our Bobby was #10.

Many of the writers in TV GUIDE are also virulently anti-Mr. D'Onofrio.

I stopped buying it a year ago when I needed a freaking tutorial just to read the thing. Unfortunately, all I have for listings on t.v. is the tv guide CHANNEL which also sucks, but with talking!!! It just scrolls sloooowly along, telling you what may be on in the next hour but nothing past that. And on the top of the screen live all the obnoxious hosts (including Joan Rivers; BLECH!) who were turned down for everything except maybe guest spots on telle tubbies.
If I had kids, I'd have to mute most of what's said at any given time of day. I shut it anyway so I don't throw my shoe through my television. I'm just so far behind these times. Dial up internet, cable tv... I do have a dvd player but will never part with my VCR.
