I saw this last weekend, and found it a delightfully morbid film. The stop motion animation is quite wonderful, and I loved the fact that the afterlife was much more colorful and entertaining than above ground. It's very much in the style of THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, although the story is somewhat darker. I recommend it highly.

I'm looking forward to it - Burton has not dissappointed me yet.

Say, do you think it's too dark/gross/scary for a couple of 8 year old girls?
I wanted to take MiniMoppet and her BF to a movie this weekend. They wanted to see Sky High, but it's out of theaters and the only kiddy flick out is Corpse Bride, which I figured wasn't a little girlie flick, so offered the zoo or bowling instead. They're really down with bowling, so we'll probably do that.

Well, my friends Zach (8) and Anna (5) loved it. (Anna has been going around pretending to be the Corpse Bride.) But Zach is a big Tim Burton fan since NIGHTMARE and Anna is a veteran scary movie watcher. Both of them, I hasten to add, are bright, engaging, funny kids, generally well-behaved.

I enjoyed this film. Wasn't as good as 'Nightmare' but I loved how the after life was full of colors and song and happiness and the living was sad, dark and very blue.
