Any electronics store should stock players; heck, they even have them at K-Mart these days! ;D I'd suggest going to somewhere like a bulk store though, where they're more likely to know about them ;)
To get back on topic, I saw Curse of the Golden Flower a couple of weeks ago, which was fantastic :D

For those who like artsy films, I recommend anything by director Wong Kar Wai . For those who don't know him, start with his more well-known films:
Days of Being Wild Ashes of Time Chungking Express Fallen Angels Happy Together In the Mood for Love 2046 Eros (segment: "The Hand")
Repressed love and desire and heartbreak are the main themes around which his movies are based. But it's not really the stories that draw you in, rather the colours and set designs (thanks for cinematographer christopher doyle), the layers of meanings of the actions of characters and what they say that aren't obvious and the way the angles are shot. absolutely beautiful.
